Hey guys!

Happy Saturday! Here's a rundown of what I've been up to this week. As I write this post, I'm currently in the van, trying hard not to up chuck. I'm painting such a pretty portrait huh? Moral of the story: bring tummy medicine and don't eat a lot when you go out. You'll end up like me. Anyway, here's what I've been up to...

Math is a disaster. It's only been about a month, and I am not doing so well. My teacher's teaching style is not compatible with my learning style. This is bad. Very bad. However, I am trying to work through it and trying to work on actually wanting to do my homework instead of reading blogs and other time consuming things.

On a brighter note, my English teacher complimented me and my friend about it expressive face gestures that help him know if he's doing a good job in class teaching or not. He's a very sweet man.

I've come to love writing everyday, but at the same time, I never really know what to write about. Journaling since the beginning of the year has been a good experience for me, but now I'm feeling the urge to do more.

Which means I am currently searching for a new hobby or talent. I want to do something more hands on like knitting or crochet. Maybe try my hand at drawing or something. I don't know, but the sky is the limit.

I have decided to post at least 2-3 times a week. I'm not sure of the exact dates, but expect a post at the beginning, middle, and end of the week.

That's all for this week! What hobby do you think I should start? How has your week been?

Tights & Leggings Obsession

Hey guys!

Since fall is here and winter isn't too far away, I've recently been obsessed with tights and leggings. I've never actually worn leggings outside of my house, but I have promised myself that I would step outside my comfort zone in terms of fashion and style. I've wanted to experiment with my outfits for a long time and this year, is the year.

Leggings and tights are always good for fall/winter. They give a more polished feel to an outfit and make it a little more girly for those who want to step out their comfort zone. There's a lot of different styles and colors for everyone so don't be shy in wearing them!

Here's how I style them:

Outfit 1
Oversized Sweater
Tank top
Lace tights

Outfit 2
Slouchy sweater
Highwaisted shorts
Sheer tights

Outfit 3
Tank top
Knitted sweater
Skater skirt
Lace tights

Outfit 4
Oversized shirt
Slim belt

Outfit 5
Large shirt
Infinity scarf
High waisted shorts
Sheer tights

My new favorite brand of tights is Hue*. Although they are expensive, they're great quality and they have a lot of different colors and styles. I found most of my leggings from Macy's* where they were on sale. Score! Pictures will be up later since I am currently studying for two tests that are tomorrow. School life, right guys?

Thanks for reading! How do you guys style tights/leggings?

*I am not being sponsored. This is my honest opinion.

Music Review: August Music Box Subscription

Hey guys!*

Last month I totally forgot to do my review of the August Music Box. School can be so tedious sometimes. However, here is my review for the August Music Box and later this month I will post the one for the September box. If you follow me on Instagram or twitter, then you know that I have already shown you a few items that I got in both boxes. Go check that out later if y'all want. Here's the review of the August Music Box.

Let's recap from July...

For $10 a month, you can get a box filled with band merch.  It’s a great way to find new bands to love and fangirl over! You can tell them what kind of genres you like and don’t like, so you don’t get them in your box. They have a 1 month subscription for $10 and a 3 month subscription for $30! They also have free shipping! I'm not sure if it's available internationally, so check out the website here for more details! They also have a twittertumblr, and facebook.

Why should I get it?

Why not? Finding new bands to love and fangirl over?! WHAT’S NOT TO LOOOOVVVEEE?! And it's only $10 too! But seriously guys! These bands are trying to get the word out about their music. It's already hard enough to break out in the music industry. This box is a great way to connect with the bands because I know that some of them definitely take the time to reply back to you on twitter!

Surprise Item

Plastic Water Gun

Business Cards

When We Met

Dylan Jakobsen

Nobody Yet

Nobody Yet

Noted by Silent-Not really sure which is the band name.

If Not For Dreaming

I really enjoyed this box. The plastic water fun really made me laugh. I love it, but I will be giving it to my younger brothers who will definitely put it to good use. My love of business cards has grown since I've subscribed to The Music Box and I'm so happy that the business cards also have free download codes. They were definitely put to good use.

Stickers are a weakness of mine. I'm very happy with the two that I got because they match the CDs that came in my box.

The CDs are on point. I love the new bands that I got because they're really amazing. I couldn't wait for my September box.

All in all, I loved the August Music Box. Althought it didn't have as much items as the last box, I'm still in love with it. It came about 2-3 days after they announced they were sending it out. Nothing was damaged and I'm very happy with the overall music choices.

Check out the July Music Box review here.

*This post is not sponsored at all. I bought this subscription with my own money and these are all my honest opinions.

Hey everyone!

Here is a weekly roundup of what I've done this week.

We've been going over poetry by Jack Gilbert in AP English Lit and let me tell you, I have been way too excited. My energy in that class is at it's peak which is so weird. I'm usually out of it when it's after lunch, but since this year I'm with most of my friends in my later classes, I guess I steal their energy when lunch comes around. I promise I'm not a vampire.

In Honors Precalculas, we're suppose to do Khanacademy. Khanacademy is a website where you learn about subject by watching videos and answering questions in little quizzes that the site gives you after learning a little bit of each section. It's a very tedious affair. I haven't done most of the videos I'm suppose to do which sucks. It's about 20% of my grade. I should be doing that right now. Oops.

I have Forensic Investigation as a science class this year and this week we got our first crime scene. It was kind of a disaster. My group didn't find any kind of evidence that would be if help in our baby crime on the first few days. Only in the last few days we were able to find something. It was good enough for me.

I've been writing each day since January 1st. I am so proud of myself. I'm thinking of doing for the rest of my life which means I might end up with stacks of journals, but I don't care. I want to leave something behind to help my future kids understand me more. It'll be fun to watch them read about what I've been through and help them along life.

I have not read an actual book in a long time. I wanted to read The Beauty Myth by Naomi Wolf, but school has been piling on the work since I'm a senior. How fun. Hopefully next week, I can start it a little bit.

I think I have a problem guys. I'm a shopaholic. Well, maybe I am. I've been shopping a lot more lately and I'm not sure if it's a good or a bad thing. I am working hard at keep my twitchy hands from grabbing something each time I go somewhere with my family. It doesn't help that my dad is actually willing to buy me items each time we leave the house.

Wait, you think as you reread that sentence. You don't have a job?! Nope. I don't have a job. I'm not allowed to have a job until I'm 18 years old. Yeah. My dad can't let me out of the house, let alone let me go have a job where I would be gone for a uncertain amount of time. I'm the oldest and the only girl among my siblings. Do you see the overprotectivness? I do.

Did I say this would be a #100happydays weekly post? Yeah, that's a lot of pictures. I couldn't even edit the pictures, so having to add a watermark to half of them was such a tedious job. Then having to upload them to my computer? Yeah. I couldn't do that. Sorry. If you guys want to really see what I've been posting, just follow my Instagram. It's @laceituplove. Yes, creative I know.

I have slightly gotten in the hang of writing a post or at least a half a post each day. I'm getting there though. Let's hope I can get the hang of it soon or I might forget about my little blog. I wouldn't want that to happen.

That's all for this week! This has turned into a slightly long post with no pictures. I'll remedy that after I post this. I actually don't have a picture for this post because this is just a ramble of what I've done. Come back later and maybe you'll find something cool. Maybe.

Thanks for reading! Did you guys have a busy week like me? What have you been up to?

Influenster Brand VoxBox: Degree #DoMore

Hey guys!

*Voxbox was recieved for testing purposes from Influenster. All opinions are my own.

I recently got a new brand Influenster Voxbox where there is only one product from a certain brand. This is the Degree deodorant Voxbox.

I got the Fresh Energy scent. It smells like a typical deodorant-kind of chalky and plastic. It's an invisible solid AKA it (hopefully) goes on clear even though it's in solid form. I prefer gel deodorants, but I'm willing to try the solid formula of Degree.

This VoxBox is focused on doing more than just okay. It focuses on doing more for yourself, your family, or whatever is important to you. This deodorant is suppose to be able to protect you from underarm stank for 48 hours. I will be trying this out next week and will be getting back to you guys about how I feel about the product.

That's it for now! Have you ever used Degree deodorant? Do you love it or hate it? Leave your comments down below!

5 Tips to Being Prepared for the School Year

Hey guys!

I know that school has started already for most people, but I still find it prudent to tell you guys what I think are important back to school tips. These are only a few tips I’ve learned throughout the years and you guys can easily build upon what you can learn from here. Here’s my tips for an amazing school year.

5 Tips to Being Prepared for the School Year

Keep extra items
We all know that one friend who isn’t prepared for anything. The person who always “borrows” something from you and you’ll never see it again. Do yourself a favor and keep extra items in your bag especially pencils. Pencils always seem to disappear the fastest.

Bring bag of emergency supplies
This is totally different from keep extra items. This bag should be filled with band aids, invisible tape, and girly essentials(AKA tampons or pads). It’ll help you in the long run when you find a random cut on your leg or you can feel mother nature decided to visit a little early. This bag should also be filled with hair ties or any other item that you feel would help you in the long run. You don’t have to have this bag of supplies in your school bag, but make sure you know where it is in case of emergency.

Prepare things in advance
Choose your outfit the night before school to save time in the morning for doing more productive things. Make snacks at night too if you’re like me and have to snack during the school day. There’s always that one cool teacher who doesn’t care if you eat in their classroom as long as you don’t make a mess. Try to sleep earlier so you don’t get tired also.

Name tags on all important items
My school has given most students a chromebook to borrow through their high school career. I’m a senior already, so I don’t really need one, but if you do have some kind of electronic you use for school, put a name tag on it. Especially if it’s something that you or your parents bought you. Name tags are your friends. You don’t want to be that one person who has to pay $200-$300 on a borrowed chromebook.

School is suppose to teach you the basics of working hard. It’s not about learning everything, but the experiencing everything to help build a healthy foundation for your life. So smile. School will be the easiest thing you will do in your life. Enjoy it.

These are my tips for having an amazing school year. Have something to share? Leave a comment down below?

Hey everyone!

Life Happens is basically a life update series that will be happening from now on. I'll be telling you guys what I've been up to and it's basically just a quick update of what I've been doing every week. So let's get started!

This week I have been working hard at school since I'm a senior now! Hurrah! High school is almost over, but college is on the horizon. I've started to pick a few colleges to apply to and I'll be working  on my applications these coming weeks.

I have fallen in love with my Advanced Placement English Literature class. The teacher is amazing and I have learned a lot these last few weeks. We're analyzing and learning about poetry which I love.

I've been so busy lately that I haven't had the time to write much blog posts. Hopefully I'll have a very large #100happydays update next Saturday since that's coming to an end soon. I will be spending tomorrow typing upcoming blog posts! So look out for a few reviews and maybe a DIY! I haven't done one of those in a while. I'm working out a schedule where I'll be able to type and post more frequently. Don't worry, I won't be abandoning this blog!

I'm working on writing a poem and a page of anything each day, starting tonight or tomorrow. I have been journaling since the start of 2014 and I'm hoping to keep going for years to come. If I can write one page a day about whatever happened to me that day, why can't I write about fiction or poetry everyday? This could stretch my time a little, but I can't wait to get started!

I really want to start reading a lot more, so I've decided to read at least one book or a magazine a month. Tomorrow, I will be trying to start The Beauty Myth by Naomi Wolf. Hopefully I can get a lot of pages read tomorrow.

What have you guys been up to?

That's it for this week!

5 Tips To Being More Social

Hey guys!

School has kept me a little busier than expected, which is why this post is late. Don't worry though because I will be trying to post these more frequently. Anyway, here are my tips to becoming more social.

5 Tips to Becoming More Social

Social Media
Getting a twitter or instagram can help with making friends by connecting you to like-minded people. Twitter is great to quickly tweet people and learn more about topics by following people and participating in twitter chats. Instagram is good to tell stories though pictures and to find inspiration.

Go out more
Obviously seeing the great outdoors and being in crowds of people can help you get out of your shell. It won't be easy for some people, but if you go out with your friends or family, it'll be a little more easier to handle. Don't forget to Smile. everyone always looks so sad/mad. People should smile when they walk.

Be loud and proud
Don’t be afraid to speak out. People have the right to speech as long as it doesn’t infringe on anothers’ rights. Yes, I'm sprouting some patriotical stuff, but some people forget that they have the right to freedom of speech. Remember though, freedoms of speech is different from being mean.

Be kind
You’ll make a lot more friends if you’re nice to people. They’ll be more inclined to get to know you and if someone is beig rude to you or spreading rumors about you, people won't believe in it so easily.

Be you
Even if you’re weird, at least you're staying true to yourself. Don't try to pretend that you're someone you're not. It'll only cause people to dislike you and it won't help you figure yourself out in the future. You just need to relax and be you. Everything will fall into place if you do.

That's it for my tips! Have something to add? Comment down below!

Small Target Haul

Hey guys!

I went to Target today because my dad got a $25 dollar gift card and he wanted to use it before he lost it. I think forgetfulness is in my family. Anyway, I was able to snag a few items for myself. Here's what I got!

e.l.f Lip Stain in Pink Petal
I have never gotten a lip stain before and i decided that this would be the perfect opportunity to get one. I got Pink Petal for a more natural lip for school and everyday use.

up&up Cotton Balls
I ran out of cotton balls a while back so I haven't been wearing eye makeup as much as I wanted to. This is definitely a staple in my makeup counter.

NYC Clear Nailpolish
I totally forgot about this item because it's so small and it got lost underneath my dad's toothpaste which is why it's not pictured above. Clear nail polish is a must for me. I use it to seal my manicures and for DIY's where I need a glossy finish or to seal items I use for resin.

Hello Kitty Bracelets
Who else did a double take when Sanrio said Hello Kitty was not a cat?! I was so shocked. Hello Kitty is actually a girl. A girl! With cat ears! Hello Kitty rant aside, I actually got four bracelets because I wanted to send two of them to one of my favorite cousins. They're only $1 so if anyone wants one too then you know where to get it.

3-Subject Notebook
I decided to get an extra notebook for my AP English Lit class because I know I will end up using up all the pages in my current one. I love my AP English Lit class. It's so fun.

That's it for this quick haul! I have actually been shopping a lot lately, but I haven't been able to blog about it because I buy a lot of items in one setting. I'll see if I can do a collective haul soon. By the way, if anything looks weird, let me know! I'm using the Blogger app to post and want to see if anything looks different. Thanks for reading guys!

August Favorites

Hey guys!

I apologize for not updating this blog for the past two weeks. I had been working on my summer Advanced Placement homework and getting ready for school. School started on August 27 for me and it was an alright week. I’ll start having a monthly life update starting in September, so you guys can check out what I’ve been doing outside of blogging and get to know me better. Anyway, here is a list of what I’ve been in love with in August.

High Waisted Shorts

I’m really late to this trend. I wasn’t into it at first because if you buy the wrong size, you can see camel toe. That’s not attractive. But then I found these amazing Jessica Simpson Vintage High Waisted Shorts from Macy’s and I’m hooked. They’re stretchy, fit great, and have the most attractive buttons. I love pretty buttons. Here's a link to the shorts I bought from Macy's.

Hard Candy Ginormous Lash Mascara & Wet N Wild MegaVolume Mascara

My lashes look long and full when I use these two mascaras together. On it’s own, the Hard Candy Mascara is amazing, but it’s really liquidy and causes my lashes to group together. However, I find that using the Wet N Wild mascara to separate my lashes and build volume really helps make my lashes look more natural in a really dramatic way. I have tiny lashes, so these two products are my new obsession.

Everything Else

I didn’t use social media that much until I got a twitter. Now it’s like I’ve meet new, interesting people from all over the world and I’m really happy that I made an account. My twitter is honestly a mess of personal tweets, retweets, and just random stuff I find interesting. There is a follow button at the top of this page and hopefully I’ll see you guys there!

I have a tumblr account where I post what’s interesting to me and it’s honestly a place where I put my thoughts. If you guys want to get to know me more and what I like, my tumblr is the place to really dig deep into my soul. I’m trying to edit my tumblr to look reflect my personality which is why it currently looks like a hot mess. Don’t worry though, it’s only temporary.

That is all for this month! It’s a really short list, but I have really been really busy these last two weeks. I will try to get into the groove of things and I’ll see if I can get a set schedule for you guys.
