Sorry I haven't been posting a lot lately! Lots of school work to do and college applications to fill out. Sounds fun right? Anyway, here's a quick list of my favorite items that usually only pop up during Halloween time!
-Halloween Town Series
-Scary Godmother 1&2
-Horror movie marathons!
-Any show that has a Halloween special! I especially loved the Lizzie McGuire episode!
-Pumpkin Pie (Am I the only one who wants pumpkin pie all year long?!)
-Makeup sets like the Wicked e.l.f. collection
-The abundance of random makeup products that I wouldn't normally get, but find out is an amazing product only to realize that the company only sells them when it's Halloween.
-BLOOD RED LIPSTICK. As in, really really bloody red if you catch my drift
-Tins. For some reason, I find a lot of pretty tins that I can fill with small bits only around Halloween. Maybe it's suppose to hold candy? I usually use them to hold small beads and random stuff like ticket stubs.
-Skeleton items like, candle holders, etc. They're such a pretty product, why don't they sell it year round?!
That's it for today! I really love Halloween! It's one of my favorite times of the year, but unfortunately I won't be trick or treating this year. I'm not feeling the urge to go out without a proper costume or have to watch my brothers. Again. As always. Being the oldest sucks sometimes ya know?
Do you have any Halloween favorites? What do you love the most about Halloween?
Thanks for reading!
This week has been a lot better than last week. So here's a rundown...
My school has four quarters where two quarters equal one semester. The semester grades are the important ones that college see, but the quarter grades do help in realizing how you're doing in school. I know I've mostly gotten A's in the first quarter, but my math grade is terrible. It's not easy getting an A when the test grades are 70% of my grade. I've been working on math for most of my study time, so hopefully by January I'll get a nice B+ at least.
I have a therapist. Yes. A therapist. Maybe I'll expand on that in another post if you guys are interested?
Besides getting a therapist, I've been figuring out a way to get more storage space in my room. I need a few more hangers for my clothes and I would really like one of the seas that double as a storage unit. I could clear out a few places with it and finally use my desk in my room. There's a lot of clutter on it since I don't know where to put things.
As you guys know, I've started to cement a proper posting schedule. Now I need to start a writing schedule. Add that to my homework schedule, and you've got a recipe for diseaster. Let's see what happens.
I almost forgot! I realized a few of you guys have comment on my posts, but I haven't been able to reply. I've been a bit busy and haven't been able to properly read them! Hopefully I can reply back tomorrow since I'll be done with my essay by tomorrow morning. School is a bit more important to me.
That's all for this week! How have you guys been? What's going on with your lives?
I don't know about you, but Target is one of my favorite stores. It's bright, clean, and the staff is pretty nice. I recently went there with my youngest brother and dad who were suppose to buy my brother some new clothes. I sneaked in some products for myself because hey, we were already there and I needed a few things. So here's what I got...
Earl Grey Tea
The packaging is what got me to buy tho product. I've never had earl grey tea before and the packaging was cute, so might as well right?
Nighty night tea
I have a problem with my sleeping pattern. Most days I have sleepless nights and I wake up exhausted. This tea is medicated for adults(technically I am an adult) and I thought it would be good to try out. I've never heard of medicated tea before and the flavor seemed interesting.
Package of Chapstick
My regular EOS lip balm isn't helping as much as it used to. I'm not sure why, maybe I've become immune to it. I don't know. So I decided to get the reliable Chapstick that everyone knows. Im already seeing an improvement.
I've seen this in a YouTube video and thought they looked yummy. So I got two. The goji and raspberry flavor is so delicious. I am trying to save it so I can have some throughout the weekend, but I'm not sure it's going to last that long.
That's it for my haul! I'm really happy that I got a few more teas for my growing tea collection. It's starting to become one of my favorite drinks, but it will never replace hot chocolate or coffee. Maybe it's tied.
I wanted to buy the Kate Moss 107 lipstick that almost everyone has, but the last one was messed up. As in, the tip looked like someone took a bite out of it. Don't you hate it when people do that? If you're going to swatch a lipstick, at least buy the one you swatched. It's common curtesy.
What have you guys been eyeing lately?
I know, I know. I don't have to tell you where to buy clothes. There are lots of different articles that can help you determine which store is for you, but I always find it helpful to read about regular peoples' favorite places to shop. Not celebrities or people with a lot of money and not enough hobbies to hold their attention. A regular person who's taste could be similar to yours. But enough of my rambling, here's the places where I shop.
I love thrift stores as most of you already could tell. You can find clothes that still have tags and find some really cool items for less than in stores. I found my favorite acid wash jean jacket from one of my local thrift shops. It's always a good place to look for vintage clothes.
I usually get my jeans from Macy's because they're sizes are clearly displaced and there's a lot of different prices for your income range. I also love going through the sales racks because there's a wide variety of sizes and items. It's a great place to find something that was expensive last week, but is half the price on the sales rack. Macy's also has a rewards program and it's definitely worth it to sign up.
Ross is one of my favorite stores. There's a lot of different items and a wide range of sizes. I always find something that i can add to my wardrobe. One of my newer purchases is this long cardigan with pockets. I'm in love with it.
It's a little more pricer than Macy's, well, at least to me. They have sales racks around the store, and you can definitely find something that will make you happy. They also sell Lorac makeup in certain places which is a plus for me.
That's it for today! These are my local haunts for new clothes. I can always find something on these stores that make my wardrobe more me.
What's your favorite store? What shop should I check out next time I go shopping?
I've been pretty busy this week which is why I haven't posted as much as I wanted to. Here's an update...
Everything is going pretty good. Except math. Math boggles my brain, but I am working through it. I am hopeful that I will have good grades at the end of the semester. I am going to try out different ways of studying to find out what's right for me. Wish me luck! Hahaha!
Thursday night something happened at home which cause me to email my cousler asking if I can go to school but be excused. Of course, she let me and then I somehow ended up going to a therapist and being told that I have to go Kaiser Permanente to be held for observation Monday. How fun.
Since I might be held for observation for a while, I'll try to have a few blog posts written up and scheduled to be posted. Hopefully, I'm not held for too long and I can get on with school and work on trying to get to college and finding a job.
That's it for this week! Hopefully you guys had a more peaceful week than me.
What have you been up to this week?
The following places are where I get most of my jewelry. Most of my jewelry I've inherited from my Mama, but I've recently started to buy some jewelry to add to my collection. So let's go~!
What can I say? Cheap and girly calls to me. I can find some good items at Claire's especially at the sale racks.
I love buying from small business. Etsy is prefect for customize jewelry and nerdy kind of items from books, tv, etc. Prices vary from store to store, but usually they're at a really good deal.
My favorite place to get vintage and unique items. I love the random stuff I can find in thrift stores. Jewelry prices in thrift stores vary from place to place, but they're generally at an affordable price.
That's it! It's a really short list, but I've only started to recently add jewelry to my outfits. Accessories can really spice up an outfit and I really love the ones that I have gotten.
Where do you get your jewelry? What stores do you think I should check out?
I love bags so much. They're such a pretty accessory to any outfit and they hold all the important items I need for the day! Here's what I have in my bag during fall/winter....
EOS lip balm
Mint is my favorite because of the scent and how it leaves a nice tingling feeling.
Cold air is not good for my skin. I usually have a lotion with SPF because...well, I just want to make sure I don't get skin cancer.
Yes. I carry Flashcards. But they're pretty Flashcards. From blue to pink to orange. I like to have some kind of paper on my person in case I need to jot down a number or idea.
For joting down notes of course! I especially love my PenGem pen. It's so sturdy and I don't have to go buy a whole new pen. Just need to replace the cartridge and off I go again!
In case you meet some people who give you headaches, you know you have some. Just kidding! I usually have a few on hand because I hate getting headaches in the middle of the day.
If my bag is big enough, I like to carry my chargers. I'm not sure why, but it gives me a sense of security for my devices.
Some kind of clothing item
Again, if I have a medium sized bag with me, I like to have extra clothing like a jacket or tights. When the cold hits hard and I'm not prepared, I usually get sick. That is not happening this year.
There's all the items that are staples in my bag in fall/winter! What do you guys have in your bag this season?
I have accumulated a lot of items these past few weeks. I wanted to share with y'all a bread overview of what I got in general. This won't have pictures because well, there's a lot of items and they've all scattered across the four corners of my room. I also have a lot of studying to do, so pictures will be up later~!
From Macy's and Ross
Daisy Long Sleeved Crop Top
A bunch of random clothes from thrift stores
Bought them from Macy's & Ross
Knee high socks
A lot of merchandise from District Lines
Herbel essences Natural Shampoo Box Set
From grocery outlet
Hard Candy Mascara
From Grocery Outlet
NYX Matte Lipsticks
From flea market
St Ives Scrub
NYC Chubby Crayon Lipstick
That's it for today! I was going to post a new Tipping Tuesday blog post yesterday, but I am currently really sick right now. Which is ironic because the tips were about how to deal with being sick. Hahaha! Anyway, I have honestly accumulated a lot of random items. I will be doing a purge on my closet and other areas of my life, so I'll see if I can update you guys on what's going on!
Thanks for reading guys! What you guys been buying lately?
This week was pretty boring actually, but maybe I'm just too tired to think about the whole week? Haha! Anyway let's have a recap...
For those of you who don't know, I am addicted to Twitter. There, I said it. I usually participate in tweeting sprees when new episodes of my favorite shows are on. I can type at a pretty face rate, which may annoy some people. My little cousins tried to make me stop tweeting, but if I have to deal with her Mota/YouTube/5SOS spams, she has to deal with mine.
My #100happydays posts on Instagram are coming to a close. In a few days, I'll be done and then I have no idea what to do. Maybe I should make up my own Instagram challenge?
Boring. And boring and boring. Nothing interesting except that one of my "friends" will be changing her schedule after first semester and will end up in the same lunch as me and our other friends. There goes our quiet lunch time. She's too loud for her own good.
I have a few ideas on what to post for the next few weeks. Be ready for some random stuff and pictures! Lots of pictures! I can finally post pictures!
I will also be tweaking my blog a bit, so if it looks a little wacky, sorry about that. I want to make sure everything is the same size, color scheme looks nice, etc.
That's it for this week! Kind of boring, but hey! Who needs excitement every week? How has your guys' week been?
Here's part 2 of what my winter essentials. Remember that these are what I need to help me through these cold nights. Don't forget to share with me what you guys like to have during winter in the comments!
I practically live in Converse shoes. They're a staple in my wardrobe and I'm so lucky that I have a few pairs. They match with practically anything.
I'm not much of statement necklace kind of gal. I prefer simple necklaces that help inhance my youngness. That's a word right? Haha! They're so easy to layer and there's so many ways you can make your own necklace. Hopefully I can get a DIY post about them up once I get my hands on some more chain metal.
Long Sleeved Items
Whether it be a shirt or a jacket, anything long sleeved is the way to go during winter. It'll help prevent you from getting a chill and they're always comfy when it rains.
I love these kinds of shirts. They're also a staple in my closet, but I can never find ones with designs I like. Which is why I raid my dad and brother's closets for their shirts. My dad has a lot of shirts he doesn't wear and somehow, some of my clothes ends up in one of my brothers' drawers. I don't know why. Anyway, oversized shirts are good for layering, comfort, and look good on anyone.
Skinny jeans are a must for me. They're easy to style and they flatter my legs. They also give the illusion of me being taller if I wore them with a slouchy top. They're amazing.
I have a post about my obsession with leggings/tights. I just recently started to buy them in more colors and designs with the intent to actually wear them outside. I don't like having those awkward panty lines, so I'm still looking for seamless panties or maybe I'll start wearing thongs. Whichever I decide to do first. I pair them with an oversized shirt most of the time becaus they are not pants. They won't cover everything. You may get a camel toe guys. Prepare for it.
Knee High Socks
I'm trying to get comfortable wearing skirts to social events, so knee high socks are a must this season. My legs are almost always the coldest part of my body during winter, so pretty knee high socks are starting to creep into my sock drawer. Hopefully the dryer doesn't eat them and I have to wear mismatched pairs.
Wow! That's a lot compared to my part 1 post! But when it comes to clothes, it's always better to have a few items to mix and match in your closet. Fall/Winter is the time to experiment on a more winter goddess kind of look with innocent styles and dark seductive looks. So have fun with this season! Step out of your comfort zone! Do something crazy in winter! But don't go too overboard with it. It might just backfire on you.
Thanks for reading guys! What do you guys like to wear during fall/winter?
*Not a sponsored post. Everything is my own opinion and I'm making no profit/compensation from it.
There's a lot of posts from other bloggers who also have a list of fall/winter essentials. Since everyone has different preferences, I might as well add my own right? This is for all the other on the go girls who like being comfy and showing off their unique looks.
Dark or Nude lip colors
Winter is a great time to wear a more darker lip or go nude. It's easy to change up your look with just a swipe of lipstick, so this is an essential for me.
Simple makeup looks
Longer nights and shorter days means that I can't always spend a lot of time on my makeup. I usually just do a swipe of mascara and a lipstick then out the door I go. If I'm feeling a little more outgoing, I put on a bit of eyeliner to make my eyes pop.
Dark colors look really nice in winter in general, so of course I'm going to match my nails to my lipstick. Or at least, to my mood.
Make your nails shine during winter! It's such a nice way to add a little sparkle to your life.
So simple. So chic. Perfect for the lazy days of winter.
No heat curls
Of course, no heat curls are perfect for giving your hair a break from the heat of hair tools. Just braid your hair at night and ta-da! In the morning, you'll have some amazing waves.
That's it for today! Part 2 wil be coming up later this week! Maybe there will be a part 3 if I find myself adding a bit more sections like stationary, ect.
