LIFE HAPPENS #33

Hey guys!

Today is Halloween! I should be out trick or treating, but I decided to stay home tonight. There's a lot of things to do this weekend.

SCHOOL
I am way behind on my math homework. I blame word problems for being so terribly long. Since I like writing down the problem, it takes a very long time to do math homework. I also mustered up the courage to buy something from the school cafeteria. I hate having to interact with people as I'm very awkward in real life.

Besides that, I have finally decided what I want to major in. Or at least, I'm pretty sure I want to major in the field I'm thinking about. When I start taking classes towards that major, I'll see if I really want to go into it.

PERSONAL
I decided to tackle NaNoWriMo again. Oh goodness. I tried to do this every few years, but I always end up not finishing it. With the four hour gaps I have on Monday and Wednesdays, I'm finally cracking down and making myself write. Maybe this year I'll do better. Now the question is, should I write about my experience here or my book blog? I keep neglecting it. Maybe I'll revive it in 2016. Let's cross our fingers.

I've become a comic book fan. I finally walked into my local comic book store today and found a few comics that I got hooked on. I'm thinking of going to the comic book store weekly to get new comics. It'll be fun to start collecting comic books as they're smaller and more  manageable once you have a library full of them.

That's it for today! Thanks for reading!

Geeky Things//ZNation Cosplay

Hey guys!

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS. LEAVE NOW OR YOU MAY REGRET IT.

Halloween is tomorrow! If you still don't have a costume, why not cosplay as one of your favorite characters? Here's a few costume ideas that you can put together using items you already have in your closet!

Season one of ZNation has the cast in ordinary clothing. Because it is the zombie apocolypse. No dresses or skirts allowed.

Season 1

Most of what the gang is wearing can easily be found at a store or in your closet. Except the guns. And the ZWhacker of course. I did see something make a really good duplicate on twitter of it though. If you have the drive and the time, I'd definitely recommend making one. It'll make your cosplay more realistic and you have a weapon in case the zombie apocalypse happens on Halloween. It helps to be prepared right?

Now season two is a different story. Most of the clothes can be found in your closet, but some thigns you just don't have. Like Sunshine's GoGo girl outfit or Murphy's gold rim fedora thing. And his jacket. What even is that material?

Season 2

Finding inspiration from one of your favorite shows is always a good idea. Not only do you get to be one of your favorite characters for a day, you can also make new friends who understand/know who you are.

That's it for today! Thanks for reading!

Holiday Special//Favorite Halloween Specials

Hey guys!

Halloween Specials are totally different from Halloween movies. Halloween movies can be watched at any time of the year; Resident Evil is played a lot in the summer. Halloween Specials are only played around October. They don't show up in any other month which means I have to dig through stores just to see if they have a DVD of it or look through YouTube for a good quality upload. Or if they don't show up during October, it's because they're really really old. Here are my favorites...

Scary Godmother
When this special came out, I loved Scary Godmother and how she interacted with the main character. I also learned how to make s'mores in the microwave from this show.

The Suite Life of Zack and Cody: The Ghost of Suite 613
This episode may or may not be on Netflex. I'm not sure because I don't have Netflex (Shocking, I know). I loved the twist at the end of what was really happening in Suite 613.

Goosebumps
Let's be real, Goosebumps will always scary people. The mask episode? The book with the camp where everyone disappears? Whether show, book, and recently movie, Goosebumps will always give me the shivers.

Scooby Doo
I loved the original Scooby Doo. I was lucky to be born early enough to catch the specials where Scooby, Shaggy, and Scooby's little cousin, ended up teaching at Ghoul Academy. I loved those Ghoul girls.

Big Time Rush: Big Time Halloween
I'm sure most girls had a crush on at least one of the guys on the show. Mine were Logan and Carlos. The ending was cute and I loved their costumes.

Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide to: Halloween and Vampires, Ghosts, Werewolves & Zombies
If only this show was on when I was in middle school. I grew up watching it in elementary and didn't realize how it would apply to me growing up. Also, I really wanted a ferret because of this show.

Psych: This Episode Sucks
It's Psych. Enough said.

Whether or not you like Halloween, you have to like at least some aspect of it. If not for the free candy, then what do you like about Halloween?

That's it for today! Thanks for reading!

Tippin' Tuesday//Halloween Safety

Hey guys!

I haven't done one of these posts in what seems like a long, long time. So I decided to make a quick Halloween themed post! Being safe during Halloween is very important. You're basically asking strangers to give you free candy and we all know some kind of horror story about the holiday. Stories aren't always true, but it's better to be prepared in case of emergency. Here are a few ways to keep safe during trick or treating.

WEAR BRIGHT CLOTHES
If you're in a costume, try to wear something bright. A jacket is great since it gets chilly in the evenings and most costumes aren't very warm to begin with. If you're not in a costume, it's always a good idea to wear bright clothes for people to find you easily. You'll stand out once you start crossing paths with other trick or treaters.

STAY WITH A GROUP
Not only is it much more fun, being in a group will give you a better sense of comfort. Although there would be more people to count off to make sure they're there, you'll always have someone near by in case of emergencies.

BRING A FLASHLIGHT
Or any kind of light. It can get dark really quickly where I live and my brothers like to spend hours trick or treating. I have a light that I use to make sure my brothers know where I am and a flashlight once the clock starts getting towards midnight.

BRING A PORTABLE CHARGER
In any situation, a portable charger is a must. In case your phone dies, you definitely need a portable charger to keep connected to your friends and family.

BRING A FIRST AID KIT
When you have brothers that like to fight, a first aid kit is a must. You might start getting a blister or maybe you need a tylenol for that headache your kids are giving you. The first aid kit doesn't have to be very big, but it does need to have whatever you think you're going to need.

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I always want to make sure I'm prepared for any surprises especially on Halloween.

That's it for today! Thanks for reading!

LIFE HAPPENS #32

Hey guys!

Life has been rough lately.

SCHOOL
I had two math tests this week that I hopefully aced. As we all know, math is not my forte. School has really been exhausting lately. I have about two months or so until the end of the semester and I'm already fretting about finals. Oh the life of a college student.

PERSONAL
Since school has been taking up a lot of my time, my health has gone a little downhill. I'm thinking of doing a little bit of morning exercises to make sure I stay fit. You never know when you need to outrun zombies. Or small children while playing tag. Kids have a lot of energy.

With Halloween coming up next week, I decided to cosplay as one of the characters from ZNation. If you haven't seen my mad twitter spams on Fridays, check 'em out! I'm not as funny as the first season, but I blame it on the emotional roller coaster that is season two. I was not expecting any of what's happened so far.

Here's bit of music that I've been playing on repeat lately. I love where Ghost Town is going with their music. It's new, but still them.

A short weekly update, but what can I say? Life happens. (I think I've used that line too many times. Oh well!)

That's it for today! Thanks for reading!

Holiday Special//Favorite Halloween Movies

Hey guys!

I've been really busy with school and family these past few weeks. I finally got time to sit down and write this post! I'm really excited that Halloween is next week because free candy and dressing up is what I'm here for. I've decided to do a bit of a Holiday Special for Halloween as it's one of my favorite holidays. Today's post is going to be about creepy, scary, or downright hilarious Halloween movies that I love to watch on TV.

Source
Coraline
I loved how the animation flows and the storyline is just so unique! I saw it for the first time with one of my Aunts when it first came out. I thought the other world was amazing until the Other Mother gave her that present. I was terrified as a child, but now I definitely sympathize with Coraline and how she had to deal with everything.

Beetlejuice
A classic Halloween movie that I'm sure everyone knows. It was one of my childhood favorites and I still laugh at the ending. Who else is excited for Beetlejuice 2?!

Corpse Bride
What can I say? The ending killed me.

The Nightmare Before Christmas
Sally was my favorite character and the thought of Halloween during Christmas made me want to make it happen.

Hocus Pocus
My all time favorite, I love how three sisters' fashion. Even if they're the villains, I liked how the movie gave them such an realistic family dynamic and great personalities. Also, Thackeray was a hunk before he turned into a cat.

Halloween Town Series
I'm not sure why the fourth movie had a different actress, but I still love the series. Especially the second movie. There was something about Kal that I loved. Must be his bad boy status. Marnie totally should've been with him, if he wasn't evil and out for revenge. Oh well!

Jeepers Creepers
I had nightmares about this movie when I was a kid. The whole franchise is terrifying.

Resident Evil Series
I love zombies, especially this series. I've only watched the first three movies, but I'm trying to find the last two on DVD or online. I need to know how this series end.

Ju-On 1 & 2
The original Japanese movie about the Grudge. The story may be more complicated to grasp, but having it all come together in the end was just amazing.

One Missed Call
Again, this one is the original version. The ending was just wow!

Shutter

I think this one is the American version of foreign movie. I really loved the plot twist at the end of it.

ParaNorman
The ending of this movie shocked me. I didn't see that little plot twist coming.

There are a quite a few Tim Burton movies here. I guess I just really like his style. What are your favorite Halloween movies?

Things I Realized...When I Wore Garter Knee High Socks

Hey guys!

I recently bought a pair of garter knee high socks from Hot Topic. I love the look of garters and I've always wanted a pair. It was a challenge to pair it with something in my closet, but I decided to go with a basic black skater skirt from H&M, a Crown The Empire tee, a plaid shirt, and a nice pair of shoes. I didn't get a picture (Stupid me!), but I did realize a few things about wearing garter knee high socks.

REALIZATION #1: The back elastic looks weird.
Since I'm on the short side, I noticed that the elastic doesn't really stretch all the way when I'm not standing straight. It looks weird from behind, so I had to roll up my biker shorts higher than I'm use to for the elastic to sit flush against the back of my thigh.

REALIZATION #2: The clip digs into your skin.
It's not really noticeable unless you sit in the same spot for a few hours. Which I had to do Wednesday as I have a four hour waiting period between two of my classes. Personally, I didn't feel it unless I was shifting around trying to reach my bag, but other than that I was fine.

REALIZATION #3: The clips may leave weird looking marks.
The back of my thigh had a weird indent on it that reminded me of something from Attack On Titan. It went away for a few hours, but I couldn't help rubbing it for a bit. It felt really weird.

REALIZATION #4: Unless you're wearing shorts or a mini skirt, you can't really see the garter part of them.
My skirt hid the part that I wanted to show the most. I was a little bummed out. I didn't want to flash anyone with a shorter skirt, however I did want to see people's reactions to my socks.

REALIZATION #5: Need to go to the bathroom? These are a lot easier to take off than a bodysuit.
I don't own a bodysuit. They don't look too bathroom friendly though. I think these are a lot easier to take off. Just pull down your shorts/skirt/whatever, and there ya go! Of course, fixing them back on may take a tad longer than when you first put them on, but let's be honest here. If you got to go, you got to go.

Sure, garter knee high socks aren't for everyone. That's totally fine! I really like how they look and just add a little bit of a risque feeling to your outfit. I definitely recommend trying these out at least once, with a cheap pair to see how you like them.

That's it for today! Thanks for reading!

LIFE HAPPENS #31

Hey guys!

This week was pretty normal. I did go shopping (again!), but I decided not post any hauls up for the time being since I don't have time for really picture heavy posts. College life yo. So here's how my week went.

SCHOOL
Everything is going really great. Of course, math is exhausting as always, but I am pretty on top of my work this time. English is surprisingly challenging as I'm not one to focus on the rules of writing. Why is English such a weird language?

Career and Life Planning was kind of boring this week with how half the class was gone for the day. Dance class is fun as always! We learned a routine yesterday that was surprisingly easy, but I'm always somehow on a faster tempo than everyone else. It's weird.

PERSONAL
I'm really excited for Halloween! I'm thinking of cosplaying as one of the gang in ZNation from season one. I think it'll be easier to find outfits from that season than the new one. Have you guys seen Sunshine?! She totally reminds me of a GoGo dancer this season! I didn't even know stores still sells those kinds of outfits.

As I mentioned in the beginning of this post, I've been spending quite a bit of my money. Most of it goes to food and school supplies, but this month I'm going to try to keep my spending to ten to fourteen transactions as ten transactions help keep my savings balance at the right minimum. I don't have to pay the account fee as a $1 is transfer into that account each time I buy something. The only really expensive item I want is about $100 and is a bundle from one of my favorite bands. I'm really tempted to buy it. Maybe I'll convince my dad to add a bit more to my account as an early birthday present.

Style It//Falling For Fall

Hey guys!

Since fall is now here (or is coming soon!), I decided to do a fall inspired Style It post. These outfits are more for people who live in places where it doesn't snow or the temperature doesn't fall too low. Snow may seem cool, but it's too cold for me personally. As always, adapt these outfits in whatever way you want. Just remember to express yourself! Also, my creativity is running low, so all the titles of the outfits sound weirder than normal.
