WHEN LIFE SLAPS YOU IN THE FACE

Hey everyone!

I think this is the first time I haven't completed Blogmas in a while. Like the title says, life decided to put me on a roller coaster without my permission. If you keep up with me on twitter, then you already know that my grandfather wasn't feel well again last week so I had to stop writing blog posts for a while. He is feeling better now and will hopefully continue to feel better so that he doesn't have to go to the hospital again.

If you keep up with my twitter, you might've seen the sporadic tweets about the cold and snow. Snow? California doesn't snow, you might be thinking to yourself. You're right. It doesn't snow in California. I'm spending my Christmas and New Year's in Chicago. Not only have I finally gone to Millennium Park, I've played around in snow for the first time in years. I was greatly amused.

This impromptu break has brought a lot of realizations to how I want to run this blog. I try to be ambitious with goals like posting at least twice a week, but I don't really want to do that. I want to post content that I love. I want to write about my favorite hobbies. I want to just write.

So next year, I'm taking a new path with this blog. Instead of posting twice a week, I'll be posting content that I'm happy with and think is a good fit for the blog. This could mean once post a week or three posts a week. It depends on schoolwork and how passionate I am about the post. I'll try to keep up with LIFE HAPPENS posts, but I can't guarantee that they'll be consistent.

I do have a list of New Year's Resolutions, so a post on them will be coming up a little bit. I hope you guys are having a great New Year's Eve.

What are you doing for New Year's?

5 THINGS I'D RATHER DO THAN TAKE MY FINALS

Hey everyone!

If you're a student then you've already done your finals or are studying for them. Since I'm a notorious procrastinator, I've compiled a list of experiences that I'd rather do than sit for my finals.

1. ROCK CLIMB THE GRAND CANYON // I'm not sure if this is possible, but I'd take the challenge if it gets me out of doing my finals.

2. EAT PUFFER FISH SUSHI // These babies are poisonous if they're not prepared correctly. I have better chances of staying alive than getting the grade I want on my finals.

3. GET REJECTED BY MY CRUSH IN FRONT OF A CROWD AFTER CREATING AN ELABORATE PLAN TO TELL THEM I LOVE THEM // It's rather self explanatory.

4. LISTEN TO ONE SONG FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE // This may seem like a good idea, but think about it. What song wouldn't get annoying after the first week?

5. SIT IN THE NOSEBLEED SECTION OF A CONCERT // Have you ever been to a concert? There's one section where all you hear is screaming, and it doesn't even have to be metal music. It's horrible.

This is a short list, but guess why? Yup, I'm studying for my finals. Although I wish I could sit in the nosebleed section of a concert or try poisonous sushi, I have to sit in for my finals.

Are you a student? What would you rather do instead of finals?

STYLE IT//FINALS

Hey everyone!

I'm not sure if I did a Style It post for finals. However this year, I decided to create outfits that are easy to pull on because finals do start early for students. Since California weather is unpredictable, I did a bit of layering in case the weather gets hotter or colder as the day goes on. With the amount of rain that happens throughout the week, it's annoying to have to peel off clothing that is too tight.

SNACKS FOR STUDYING AND FINALS

Hey everyone!

I'm sure I'm not the only college student frantically studying to get a good score on my finals. Sometimes I'm so into studying that I forget to eat or when I try to look for food, I only grab a small snack. It's not healthy to just eat snacks all the time, and with finals just around the corner, it's ideal to make food before hand in case you forget to eat the morning of finals. Although I don't like eating in the morning because my stomach can't handle it, I do like to have a bit of food before finals and right after finals to make sure that the rest of the day goes smoothly.

My definition of brain food is entirely different from other people's. As long as I'm eating, I'm considering it brain food.

Potato Chips // A recipe that my brother found from his friends or one of the websites he frequents. I'm not sure where he got the original recipe, but the one linked is exactly what I do when I'm craving potatoes. You can make a lot of these in one sitting then eat them while studying.

Inside Out Pizza // This is a very quick and easy recipe. You can make this during a thirty minute break since it takes about fifteen minutes to make.

Toad In a Hole // The name makes me giggle. Although this takes thirty minutes to make, it makes six servings. Perfect for the whole day if you're too nervous to eat because of finals.

Good Morning Wrap // If it's easier to eat sweet foods in the morning, then this wrap filled with fruits is perfect.

Toasted Garlic Bread // There are various recipes on how to make this, but I think this one is the quickest I can find. I have a fondness for garlic bread and eating it between finals sounds like a fabulous time.

Vicki's Hush Puppies // These are simple and you can double up if you want a lot of them. You can put them into a small plastic container to eat for later or during a study break.

Restaurant Style Potato Skins // Although this recipes take a while to prepare, you can have a lot food for when you're done with studying.

Jet Swirl Pizza Appetizers // Have you ever craved pizza, but not at the same time? These appetizers are prefect for when you're craving pizza, but not in pizza form.

Easy Sausage Cheese Balls // This recipes makes about thirty or so servings. Another amazing recipe for when you're not really hungry, but need something to munch on before finals.

Creamy Fettuccine Alfredo With Broccoli // For a more filling meal, I like to eat pasta. Once finals are over, you can eat out at your favorite restaurant or make this then knock out.

What do you like to eat during finals?

5 THINGS STUDYBLRS HAVE TAUGHT ME

Hey everyone!

I've had a studyblr for almost a year now. Although I don't go on often, I have learned more about studying and learning than I ever have before. From different ways to studying various subjects to learning how to be okay with failing, I never thought having a studyblr would impact the way I study and how I approach projects. Here's what I learned from studyblrs.

Failure is okay // It's not the end of the world if you fail. Sometimes you have to fail to realize that something isn't good for you or you need to change the way you approach a problem.

It's not about having the prettiest pictures or stationery, it's about learning // The studyblr community can be stressful. There are a lot people who post pretty study pictures and have the prettiest stationery, and it can create jealously or inferiority. However, the goal of having a studyblr isn't to have nice looking notes or pens. It's about bettering yourself and getting to where you want to be. It's not a requirement to have pretty notes, and it's important to remember that pretty notes doesn't equal good grades.

Mental health is important // Studying is stressful. Practically everyone knows this. It can lead to a lot of mental break downs and tears which is why looking out for yourself is at the top of the list in making sure you have good grades. If you're not in a good place mentally, it can affect you physically and can cause you unneeded stress.

Find the right way to study for you // There are many different ways to study so why should you follow one way when it doesn't work for you? Through the years, I've found that audio is one of the best ways for me to retain information while being more physical helps me learn how to do make or do something.

Take breaks between study sessions // It's a lot easier to retain information if you take a break between each topic or concept. However, taking a break on social media or other sites might not be a good idea. They're created to suck up as much as your time as possible which makes it harder to get back to work. I recommend stretching, eat a small snack, or write.

Having a studyblr has helped tremendously with learning more about myself and how I study. I love going through masterposts since they have a wealth of information in one spot. I definitely recommend going through the studyblr tag to get inspired to study.

Do you have a studyblr? What have you learned about your study habits?

5 WAYS TO MAKE TIME FOR WRITING

Hey everyone!

Since the end of NaNoWriMo, I've been slightly putting off writing. I feel guilty about it, but finals are next week. I need to focus on them for the moment. However, finding time to write is not only challenging for practically anyone who wants to write. I can't remember if I already wrote about how I find time to write, but I think I've got a few good ideas in this post.

Find the time when you're most productive & use it to your advantage // It's important to find out when you're most likely to get things done. I find that early in the afternoon to early evening my productivity levels are highest. I get a lot more done in the early morning too, but I'm too cold to really concentrate on anything. I use this time to jot down a few ideas and sentences before going back to sleep.

Write between classes // Next semester I have about four online classes and one class at the main campus of my school. The time it takes to get to each class and wait for the teacher is perfect time to write a few sentences that can spark a new passage later that same day.

Write between each assignment // Writing a bit before starting a new assignment is a nice way to generate some content. Even if you can only write a sentence or two, that's one more sentence for your novel. Although I do advise using a timer in case you get carried away and forget to do an important piece of work.

During your morning commute // If you have to take the bus or a train to work or school, the time you're on is a great way to get a few things done. Writing on your phone or on a laptop is a great way to spend time. You can get a page or so done each day until you get to the end of your story. You can even edit each page on the bus if you want.

Cut out your social media time to write // I spend hours upon hours on social media. Instead of staying on Instagram or Twitter for an hour, why not cut it in half to write for thirty minutes then reward yourself with social media? This is harder for people like me who like to have a consistent posting schedule for all sites.

What do you do to make time for writing?

6 BOOKS I WANT TO READ

Hey everyone!

I participated in the 52 book challenge on Tumblr, but I haven't been updating on what I've read this year as constantly as I should be. The challenge is to read 52 books, comics, zines, and whatever you can get your hands on. It doesn't matter how short or long it is, if you read it, it counts. I decided to focus on books and comics. I know for a fact that I've read almost 52 books and comics. I'll have to count them to get a better estimation, but it was a struggle to keep reading sometimes.

This month and next year, I'll be focusing on reading mostly books. I complied a list of books that are already on my bookshelf. I want to finish the books I have on my shelf since I do have a series and stand-alones that I still need to read.

1. Battle Royale // I've been wanting to read this book after watching the movie. It originated as a manga, but I want to immerse myself into a single book then several.

2. The World of Pooh // I have two editions of this book. One claims to be a complete collection, while the other has a pretty book jacket. I'm sure that they both contain the same content, but I like to have different versions of the same book. They're just so cute.

3. Sevens Series // I saw this series a few years ago at my local Half Price Books. I have all the books in the series, but I just can't get myself to read it yet. I've read about twenty or so pages once and was promptly horrified. I didn't think a Young Adult book would talk about adultery with a minor so frankly, so I was surprised and had to put the first book down. I want to read the rest of the series, but adultery with a minor is a major no for me.

4. bird by bird // One of the famous writing books someone can read. I've read a few pages of it once. I loved the writing, however my minds tended to stray whenever I read it. I'm going to have to sit down and finish this it one sitting.

5. Writing Down the Bones // Another famous book about writing. I like the way this is structured like a miniature classroom. It gives it a bit of life. I love how the author doesn't mince words and the exercises are easy to follow.

6. The Book Thief // This book is amazing. I only read about one chapter in the book, but I was hooked. I'm attempting to read this before I watch the movie.

It's a short list, but for me, it's a reasonable endeavor. I'm a college student, so having time to read can be few and far between.

What books do you want to read?

IT'S OKAY TO BLOG FOR YOURSELF

Hey everyone!

When I first made a blog, I didn't really expect to keep it up for so long. Despite the erratic schedule I've had throughout my blogging career, I realize that I love blogging. Not because it's a way to get free products, but it's a great creative outlet for me. I tried to make YouTube videos, but I find that they're a little too hard to keep up for me when I'm a college student. I'm giving them another go this month, and I can't wait to create new content during winter break.

But enough about YouTube, and more about blogging. Blogging is a lot easier for me. I can type fast and generate content at a nice pace. Posting my content is another story. As I write this, I realize that more and more blogs are popping up left to right. Although I do encourage people to pursue their interests, the large variety of blogs that are coming out of the woodwork is staggering.

I notice that many of these blogs are focused on the same products, have similar looking websites, and have similar pictures. The content might be different on each blog, but it's almost like the same post over and over again. Although my blog may look very clean and minimalist like other blogs, but my content is almost always entirely different from other bloggers. I'm not trying to come off as a snob. If people like the same things, then that's okay.

It's when people start to blog for free products or fast fame that makes me scratch my head. Blogging isn't easy. You have to create content, write the post, and take complimentary pictures before hitting the publish button. Most people use free stock photos for their posts if they're not at that point where they can put more of themselves into a blog. That's fine too. Everyone is on a different stage of their blogging journey, but it's almost like people expect to post once and suddenly be bombarded by offers from companies.

I've seen a lot of abandoned and forgotten blogs lately. I read their posts and it's almost the same thing. They bought a trending item, wrote their thoughts on it, then waited for the comments and statistics to rise. It doesn't happen that way. There are people who have moved on from blogging and learned enough about themselves to leave the blogging world behind. They usually started a blog for themselves. Their journeys may be different, but the common factor is that they did it for their own enjoyment.

That's why I blog for myself. I started this blog as a way to document my journey through my interests. As the years pass, my interests have changed. I realize that although I love makeup and beauty, I also like to write about skincare and music. I don't want to treat my blog as a business because I'm not looking to make money out of it. It's good if it does make money for others, but if I start to blog to make money, then I'll get bored of what I write and stop blogging. I know myself well enough to admit that I can write quick posts and take quick pictures if I wanted to and be able to make money out of it. I can go with the trends and attempt to garner attention with click-bait titles.

But I don't want to because that kind of blog plan isn't for me. I want to keep blogging as a creative outlet and a way to document my journey through life. I have to remind myself that it's okay to blog for myself.

LIFE HAPPENS #63

Hey everyone!

This week has been long. The transition from November to December is always bittersweet. School is  almost over for the semester, but finals are coming up. Finals make almost every student want to run for the hills.

I'm in good shape for most of my classes. I do need to create some study guides for math class which is one of my weaker classes. Overall, I'm confident that my finals are going to go well.

In other news, I'm going to be going to Chicago for winter break. My grandfather was suppose to go with me, but he decided it would be better if he stayed home for winter. He wants to go to the Philippines in summer instead. So we'll be saving up for the family to go for vacation next year.

I'm excited to go to Chicago in winter, but I don't think I have anything that would help against the weather. I went to Reno once when I was five years old and experienced snow for the first time. That was years ago though. I do have a fluffy jacket that could work for when I go out, but that's about it. I may have to go out to buy some thicker clothing.

What have you been up to this week? Do you have an event planned for this winter?

NOVEMBER FAVORITES

Hey everyone!

For some odd reason the pictures won't load in this blog post. Since I like to keep my posting streak, I'll be adding them later. I've tried out some new products in November which is a surprise. I kept track of what I loved from previous months in my bullet journal, but they were products or items I've already purchased or owned.

I mentioned the Habitica app yesterday, so here is a slightly more in depth post about it. Another app that I've liked is Snapchat. I use it to keep up with my friends who only have Snapchat and Facebook while also following some of my favorite YouTubers.

The Body Shop's English Rose facial mask and Instaglow CC Cream are also on this month's favorites list. The English Rose facial mask is amazing in helping hydrate my skin. The Instaglow CC Cream makes my skin glow beautifully. I went more in depth with those two in this post if you want to learn more. The Chase eyeshadow from Printcess Makeup is beautiful. It's being discontinued, and I'm hoping to snag one more to keep as backup.

Two movies that I've loved this past month were Chocolat and Labyrinth. I've been looking for Chocolat since I first saw it as a child. I don't know if it's because it's about chocolate or what, but it's one of my favorite movies. I saw Labyrinth for the first time last year or so, and Jareth stole my heart. I loved the interaction between him and Sarah. It's definitely a must see.

My favorites list for November is small, but I've been busy with school work.

What did you love in November?

USING HABITICA (AGAIN) TO STAY ON TRACK

Hey everyone!

Last month or so, I found out that Habitica had an app for iPhones and Androids. I've been using it regularly to help create more consistent habits. Since it's so much easier to have the app, I've decided to join some Guilds and Challenges.

I haven't been using Habitica as much as I wanted to, but now that I can check off items on my list, I'm slightly paranoid of not checking off my to dos. The app is easy to use with different tabs that help separate each category of tasks similar to the website. I do wish I can see how many To-Dos there are in the app. It's also a lot harder to remember to check the News and Guilds on the app as they don't show a notification on the main menu that something new has popped up.

However, the app has greatly improved the way I approach certain habits. I'm currently in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry Guild whose challenges are easy to understand and finish. I found that the way they set up the First Year's Challenge and the Slytherin Challenge made me more likely to finish or do a task since I want my House to win the House Cup.

I'm definitely going to be using Habitica for as long as I can. Although I don't have a party to go on quests with, I might find one this month to challenge myself further.

Have you tried Habitica? What do you do to create healthy habits?

WHY I STILL WON NANOWRIMO

Hey everyone!

The last few weeks of November were hard. A family emergency caused me to miss a day in writing, and it all went downhill from there. I only have over 34,000 words. I didn't reach 50,000 words, but why am I saying that I still won?

The whole point of NaNoWriMo is to write. Whether if it's a hundred words or a thousand words, if you wrote something for NaNoWriMo, you've written more words than you have during the year. I now have over 34,000 words for a story that I love. It's inspiring me to keep writing throughout the year. Unlike last year where I desperately wanted to win with word vomit, this year I realized it's more important that I wrote something that I love and want to continue.

So I still won NaNoWriMo. I might not get the nice certificate, but at least I have a base for a story I want to write. I learned that writing everyday isn't for me. I worked better when writing every other day, and I learned that having a plan is better than having none.

While participating in Blogmas this month (I finally caved and started calling it what is), I'll be making more time to incorporate writing into my life. My characters have trapped my heart. I can't let them wait for me, I have to chase them.

If you participated in NaNoWriMo, did you hit the 50k word count? Or did you reach your personal word count? Leave a comment down below!

LIFE HAPPENS #62

Hey everyone!

I got sick in the beginning of the week. It wasn't that big of a deal, but it did cause me to be late in my math test. I think I did a good job, but I did forget a few equations I needed. It's fine though as I did my best with what I had.

I was doing well with NaNoWriMo, but a family matter came up. I only wrote about one hundred words yesterday, but I'm hoping to write 2,000 words later today. I have about 288 words right now, and after this posts goes up, there will be more (hopefully). I did attempt to plot a bit for my novel. I am at a crossroads on how I want to end up getting my characters to where they're needed to go.

I also got an early Christmas gift. The Sonia Kashuk Serpent brushes were on my wish list the moment I saw them. I loved the look of the snakes crawling on the brushes. In real life, they aren't as detailed as I liked, but for the price, it was worth the expense.

This week has been a trying time, but it was still a good week.

What have you been up to this week?

A PAUSE IN NANOWRIMO

Hey everyone!

It's the middle of NaNoWriMo, and I am losing steam. I do love to look at my NaNoMon to check my word count though. My Eevee has evolved into a Flareon, and although they're cute, I was hoping for an Espeon. (UPDATE: Apparently the Eevees circle through each Eeveelution when you hit certain word counts.) Despite being far ahead in my word count, I'm losing the will to put my ideas onto the screen.

I love my idea, my characters, my plot, but sometimes you get tired of reading it over and over again. Sometimes I can't type fast enough for my thoughts to get onto the screen. I know I could try dictation, but I talk too fast and might mess up. At this point, I knew I needed a break. Not a break from writing per se, but something that will perk me up to continue writing. If I stop writing for one day, I know that I'll end up not writing for the rest of the month.

So I headed to The Body Shop at my local mall. I haven't done a full Body Shop Haul since around March where I purchased my first every products from them. I went into the store to buy a Vitamin E toner to replace mine, but came out with a lot more items than I was expecting.

I first picked up two brushes. The face mask applying brush is useful for those who have a large amount of masks and don't want to keep using your fingers. I found that using a brush to apply my masks have significantly helped in controlling how much product I put on and using my masks regularly. I needed a fan brush because I wanted to see how that would affect the application of my highlighters. The Body Shop's fan brush is soft, easy to use, and the perfect length for me. My highlighter seems to be more even and blends in a lot better than what I was doing before.

The sales associate recommended the CC cream to create a brightening affect for under eye bags and a subtle highlight. The peach glow tone suited my skin color well, and it has definitely made my skin look brighter. She also demonstrated the new English Rose Facial Mask for me. Since it was a new product, and I wanted to treat myself, I decided to take a chance with it. I've seen a large improvement with my skin when I use this. My acne has started to diminish and my skin has never felt this good in a while.

I picked up another Highlighting Dome in 03. I liked the one I have, but I feel like it's a little too light on my skin tone. The pink undertones of this one is a lot more noticeable on me. I try to use this with my fan brush, but I think it works better with a large wet brush.

The last item is the biggest one. Instead of buying a toner, I bought the three product Skincare Edition Holiday Gift Set. It was $30 so I had gotten an item for free. The toner seems to have a new look that makes it look very aesthetically pleasing to me. I got a large cleanser and a 48 hour moisturizer included with the set.

My love for The Body Shop is growing with each product they create. I might try their Spa of the World section the next time I browse around.

Have you shopped at The Body Shop before? What are your favorite products?

LIFE HAPPENS #61

Hey everyone!

This week has been a challenge for me. Not only have I attempted to write about 2,000 words a day instead of 1,666 words for NaNoWriMo, I have two essay due, a math test, and a midterm this month. It's like everything important happens in November. I wonder why?

My current NaNoWriMo project is going better than I expected. There's a definite plot and characters who are taking control of their lives and steering the novel to where they want to go. I only have a few problems. One of them is naming the main character. Since I write in first person point of view, the main character is stubbornly refusing to name herself. I just decided to let her do what she wants and name her later once she decides on a name.

The second problem is that I have a short story assignment due on the tenth, but I have dedicated all my energy in writing about my novel. So I used today to write out a small scene that would happen later in the story that can stand alone. It's suppose to be a short story with about five to twenty-two pages. I doubt it's going to be shorter than twenty pages since my teacher wants it to be double spaced for easy reading. Hopefully I'll be able to edit it before the due date.

Those two problems are honestly the most exciting events I've had this week. I've been holing myself up in my room in a desperate attempt to keeping writing. I may have also neglected a bit of my homework so after writing about one hundred more words, I'll be working on that the whole night.

What have you been up to this week?

STYLE IT // WRITING IN STYLE

Hey everyone!

If you're participating in Nation Novel Writing Month, then you know that comfy clothing is a must. Some days you might want to look good for the rare occasion you leave the house for food, but most of the time your frantically trying to reach the word count. Even though NaNoWriMo makes people go deeper into their hermit like state, there are times where you must get dressed up and socialize.

When that happens, I prefer dressing comfortably and having my notebook on hand. Here's a few outfits that you can always customize to fit your style. I went with clothing items that are easy to put on and could potentially double as lounging outfits.

MY (KIND OF LATE) NANOWRIMO 2016 PREP CHECKLIST

Hey everyone!

Today is the beginning of NaNoWriMo! I'm excited to announce that I have already passed the word count for the day. Although I am done with today's word count, I will be writing more after this post. I have a vague outline for this novel, and I'm hopeful that I'll be able to finish it this month. Before I could even think about finishing my novel, I want to share with you the items that I use to prepare for an easier NaNoWriMo.

1. Notebooks

Notebooks are my preferred method for writing outside. I like to carry one around and jot down notes and scenes when I don't want to use my phone.

2. Pen

I find that the Bic Crystal pens have an easy ink flow, and I don't have to grip the barrel too hard to hold onto the pen.

3. Laptop

When I'm home, I usually type my NaNoWriMo work as it's easier to count my words and edit later.

4. An outline

This year I have a vague outline that's specific with only the characters that need it most. I'm really excited about what I'm writing this year.

5. Tea

Green tea keeps me warm and wanting to keep writing when it starts to get cold. I bought a special cup for this year's NaNoWriMo because I wanted something bigger so I don't have to get up that much.

6. Snacks

Usually Halloween candy and chips. I have a fondness for chocolate sweets and have to pace myself whenever I start to reach for them.

7. Music & Earbuds

I don't create playlists like other people because I don't have the patience for it. I do listen to different songs and a variety of music to motivate myself when writing.

8. Comfy clothing

I concentrate on writing more when I'm comfortable. I usually change into pajamas right when I get home so I don't get distracted when doing work.

9. Zines or Books

If my mind wonders when I'm writing, I like to take a break and read a book or zine. I use zines to spark inspiration and read books to get insight on character development.

10. Movies

Movies are a great way to take a break or have background noise. Featured in the picture is Chocolat and Labyrinth.

11. YouTube

Not only can I catch up on my Watch Later list, the background noise usually sparks inspiration to write.

There's everything that I use to make NaNoWriMo easier for me. I tweak this list a little depending on what I'm feeling that day. My goal this year is to be win like last year.

Are you participating in NaNoWriMo? How far along are you today?

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Hey everyone!

It's sad to think that Halloween season is over. Of course, you can celebrate Halloween all year long by being spooky and keeping up with creepy things. I'd definitely have a darker wardrobe if I didn't like having a variety of clothing.

I hope your Halloween was successful (or is successful if you're currently trick or treating!). Although I'm not trick or treating because of the rain and homework, I'll be spending my time watching scary movies while I work. What a different Halloween right?

On another note, I'll be participating in NaNoWriMo again! I won last year, and I'm hoping to do so again this year. Even though I have a few essays coming up in November, I want more create more time for writing. Check out my profile and become my buddy if you want to participate together.

How was your Halloween this year? Will you be joining NaNoWriMo?

ARE THESE CREEPYPASTAS WORTH THE FRIGHT? (PART TWO)

Hey everyone!

Yesterday I shared my favorite creepypastas to read. Today, I'll share read along videos of other creepypastas I love! There are some creepypastas that I haven't personally read and only listened to on this list. I find that Cryaotic has incredible voice acting and is amazing at creating a dark atmosphere. While Minx's voice may be slightly jarring to people, I like the overall tone of voice and projected innocence with a touch of crazy. Also included is an hour reading featuring five different people. The first person reading in that video is Daniel Radcliffe who I love with all of my heart and who also scared me to death when I heard his reading.

ARE THESE CREEPYPASTAS WORTH THE FRIGHT?

Hey everyone!

The third episode of Channel Zero was released into the world last night! To read more about the show, click here for my review of it. With Channel Zero bringing my favorite creepypasta to life, I thought it would be perfect if I some more of my favorite stories. Whether you like psychological horror or monsters, you'll find your new favorite scary story. Or one that you will never want to read again because it's too scary.

Siblings are playing hide and seek in the attic. It has 'bad idea' written all over it.

They're waiting for him. It's only a matter of time.

Based on a real syndrome, this gives it a more darker origin.

A man finds an old Legend of Zelda game that leads down to his doom. One of the classics of creepypasta.

A town disappears, but what really happened to it?

Exploring an abandoned Disney park sounds like a good idea right? Wrong.

He loves to play games with you, but this one feels different...

Betsy was your favorite plaything.

I have a lot of creepypastas bookmarked, but I think this list is long enough to give most people nightmares. If you're not a fan of reading or you don't have the time to sit down and read, I'll be writing about my favorite readings of creepypastas soon!

What are your favorite creepypastas?

LIFE HAPPENS #60

Hey everyone!

It has been another exhausting week for me. Not only do I have an essay due next week, I have another math test coming up the week after that. Fun, right? I've been so busy lately, and I've been making apologies about the slow updates for weeks. Life is making me put blogging on the back burner, but not anymore. I'm putting my foot down.

Even though it's halfway through the month, I'll be posting some Halloween inspired posts. Although I have a few ideas on what I'll be writing about, I will not be making Halloween costume makeup. It's not my area of expertise. I don't even have the right products to put costume makeup on myself. There will be some Halloween TV specials references and other fun Halloween ideas coming up soon. Maybe I'll be adding more movies to my 2015 Halloween movies list? The possibilities are endless.

Today's post is a little short, so how about you check out my thoughts on Channel Zero? It's definitely going on my 2015 Halloween TV series!

IS CHANNEL ZERO WORTH THE FRIGHT?

Hey everyone!

SOME SPOILERS AHEAD. IF YOU HAVEN'T READ CANDLE COVE YET, CLICK HERE. DON'T READ THIS POST WITHOUT SOME CONTEXT TO THE STORY OR YOU'LL BE CONFUSED.

This week SyFy premiered their newest series, Channel Zero. Channel Zero brings to life the creepypastas that you wished they didn't bring to life. The first season focuses on Candle Cove. Candle Cove is one of my favorite creepypastas and was one of the first ones I read when I first got into reading them.

Before I go into more detail, how about I break down what creepypastas are for those who are unfamiliar with them? Creepypastas refer to short horror stories that are based on anything from myths and legends to every day actions. To read a bit more about the history of creepypastas, check out this link.

Creepypastas come from anywhere. Many of them are created on one website then posted onto another website or are collected onto one place for easier reading. I use the creepypasta website to read them as I don't use Reddit, and I don't usually stray too far from my usual haunts. Candle Cove is one of the more well-known creepypastas. It's not as popular as Slenderman or Jeff the Killer, but it is a favorite for many people.

SyFy does a good job in creating a mysterious, yet terrifying atmosphere with the first episode. Although the series does have some differences to the creepypasta, the main elements of the story is still there. The puppets are still terrifying and look almost exactly like the ones you find in the creepypasta. There is the chilling aspect of realizing that the show was just static the whole time that is shown very subtly with small hints throughout the episode.

There is the added element of two new characters and a whole new underlying plot. Candle Cove is only talked about in an online chat room in the creepypasta, but the series shows how the show affected a generation of kids in a small town. The main character Mike is shown as a successful author who is trying to avoid his past, but is drawn home after a series of misfortune. Isn't that usually how the main character goes home?

Oh no, it's much worse than whatever you can think up. There is a scene that can trigger someone who is recovering from self-mutilation. As one myself, it was a shock that I wasn't expecting, and I had to look away for a few minutes.

Channel Zero does show some flashbacks that happened unexpectedly throughout the show. The past is shown for either a few seconds to a few minutes. I haven't seen a style of storytelling like that on any of the shows I've watched which is refreshing. It helped added a bit of mystery and drama while answering some questions that I had.

All in all, the first episode of Channel Zero was amazing. It brought a new twist to an old story, and I am excited to see where the show goes.

Have you seen Channel Zero? What do you think of the first episode?

LIFE HAPPENS #59

Hey everyone!

This week was hectic. I had an in-class essay and a math test. Although they were on different days, I was concerned that I would mix up the content. But wait, how do you mix up math with English or vice versa Ellie? Good question. It's a special talent of mine. Don't ask me how I do it, but know that it's a pain in the butt when I do.

Even though it's been a busy week for me school-wise, I had a very peaceful week. So I'll leave you a few YouTube videos that I've been playing on repeat.

LIFE HAPPENS #58

Hey everyone!

It's been a long month for me. Since school really threw me in a loop, I haven't been keeping up with the blog as I'd like. I do have a few posts in the works, but I'm not sure if they're going to see the light of day anytime soon. I have a few tests next week that I'll be studying for this weekend. Hopefully, I'm not too gone this time.

In other news, I am still undecided to do about my YouTube channel. I liked making videos, but in terms of content, everything has been done. Okay, maybe not everything, but it sure does feel like it. I've been looking for a tripod for my camera since I really want to try my hand at stop motion videos. Those videos give a lot more variety than the regular sit and talk that most people create. Since I might participate in NaNoWriMo again, I wanted to be able to create more videos for it in November.

All in all, September may have been busy, but the workload will lighten up soon enough.

SEPTEMBER 2016 FAVORITES

Hey everyone!

I haven't written a favorites posts in months. Since I don't really try new things a lot, I usually don't have anything new to share every month. However, this September I've been able to try out a plethora of new apps, makeup products, and jewelry.

The first item that I've been in love with this month, is my new phone! My Nokia's home button broke so I was able to upgrade to an iPhone 5s. I prefer the 5s for it's slim design. It fits perfectly in my small hands.

I have been able to use a lot more apps that I've been eyeing in the app store since getting my new phone. I use My Study Life as a way to track my classes and assignment in conjunction with my bullet journal. 8tracks is one app that I've been dying to have on me. I love using the website to listen to instrumental playlists while doing homework. I'm relearning Spanish on Duolingo, but I've also added Irish as a potential third (or technically forth?) language. Lifeline, Human Resource Machine, and Limbo have been my go to games this month. The Tapas app has been a life saver in helping me catch up with my favorite comics from the website.

When I bought this pretty gold highlighter from Leather and Lace Studio, I was hooked. It gives my skin a very subtle highlight. Although I'm not too happy with how the product is pressed, I'm definitely going to be trying out more products from the etsy store.

I got the Kat Von D Setting Powder to review a while ago, but never got around to really showing it off. Not only does it have a pretty container, the product works well in making sure my makeup stays on all day. I love using this blue mirror I bought from Daiso a long time ago to help me put on my makeup. It stands up on it's own and has a cute quote on it.

The last favorite of the month is a birthstone necklace from Bliss. It's been one of my favorite purchases from when I went to San Francisco earlier this month. Bliss is one of my favorite shops from Fisherman's Wharf. The simplicity of the necklace really gives my outfits a more delicate look.

This month felt longer than normal. The start of the new school year threw me off a bit, but with October coming up, I'll be on a more normal schedule.

What have you been loving this month?

LIFE HAPPENS #57

Hey everyone!

I've been busy this week with trying to figure out the best way to split my time. My bullet journal is a big help, but creating a set routine takes time. Since I work best late at night to the early mornings, I try to cater my schooling and studying around those times.

I know I'm more attentive at certain times of the day, but it's hard to find that balance when there's so much going around me and there's so much to do. Obviously, I'm going to create a better schedule in the near future. Maybe even tomorrow morning.

All in all, I had a very boring week. The only excitement was the start of ZNation season three yesterday.

ZNATION IS ABOUT TO KICK SOME ZOMBIE BUTT (AKA ZNATION SEASON 3 IS BACK IN BUSINESS!)

Hey everyone!

It's that time of year again. My Fridays from September have been schedule for one of my favorite TV series from SyFy. That's right. ZNation.

I know that some of you guys haven't seen the horrors of my tweets. It's a good thing too. I can get pretty fired up. Last year I did a few ZNation related posts that included what to wear, what to bring, and what happened in season one. I didn't have the time this year, but I do have the time to round up last year's posts. Some contain spoilers and others contain weird text. I'm still going through each post to make sure they look exactly as their suppose to after I changed the theme.

If you do follow me on twitter and are getting tired of my spam, well. There's a mute button located next to the unfollow me button. You decide which one to click.

Every item you should pack in your bag. Or carry on your person.

What exactly do you wear while trying to fight off zombies? Not a mini skirt. I'm looking at you Sunshine Girl.

Okay, it wasn't much of a cosplay. But I love cosplays. No matter who says cosplay isn't a real word. I see you twitching Collector.

Yes, this does contain spoilers. Read at your own risk.

An in depth look at my love for ZNation. Try not to gag at my cheesiness. This may also contain spoilers.

Ever had the urge to look like the very iconic (and totally believable) Murphy and Sunshine Girl aka Team Morphine? Here's your chance! Maybe I'll even do a Team Moonshine post soon?

I hope you guys like the posts! I'll be on twitter the moment ZNation is back in business. If you want to follow me on twitter, here's a link.

LIFE HAPPENS #56

Hey everyone!

It's been a while since my last blog post. I started school last week, and I've been trying to find the right routine for me. So here's what happened...

SCHOOL

I really wanted to stay in Intro to Acting, but I didn't have the time to stay so long. So I dropped the class and took a late start class. My other classes have been going great. I love my teachers. My math teacher in particular believes in collaborating so we have group work and group quizzes. I'm also taking Creative Writing class which has been my favorite of all three of the classes I'm in. The work really comes easily for me there.

PERSONAL

In other words, I got a new phone! I needed to replace my Nokia because the home button broke. I decided on the iPhone 5s since it's small enough to for in my hands and pockets. My younger cousin has the iPhone 6 (or was it 6s?), and it was too big for my tiny hands.

I went to San Francisco on Labor Day with my aunt. We went to Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf. I will be doing a haul/review in the future about my favorite jewelry store in Pier 39. I haven't been to that store for years, so I bought quite a few pieces that I'm in love with.

LIFE HAPPENS #55

Hey everyone!

It's been a while since I published a post that wasn't a life update. So much has been going on, and I feel like I've been neglecting the blog a bit. No worries though, as I've got a few blog posts in the works that will definitely be posted soon.

But where did I go this week?

The dentist. I went to the dentist for three consecutive days. Sound horrifying right? I was able to get through all of the appointments, however the drugs they used to numb my mouth always put me to sleep right after they were done with my teeth. What a drag. (Props to whoever gets that reference!)

I did get some things done. I finally unpacked from my trip to Chicago. I worked on my first zine. And I bought some school supplies! I'm not excited for most of my classes, but I am excited to buy more cute school supplies to get me through the day.

I've also worked on my bullet journal. I usually post pictures of it over at my studyblr since most of my inspiration comes from that little niche of tumblr. There's also some nice pictures on my Instagram about Harry Potter, concerts, and other interesting topics. I'm trying to get into the habit of posting at least once a day.

All in all, this week hasn't been as productive as I want it to be. There's always next week though!

LIFE HAPPENS #54

Hey everyone!

I've been enjoying my vacation so much that I have neglected the blog a bit. I'm back though, so expect a more consistent schedule when it comes to posts. I'll be going more in depth on what I did in July and early August in the next upcoming weeks.

Since I've been gone for quite a while, I'll be going through the site to make sure all the links are working. I left my blog hanging in the middle of tweaking it, so hopefully nothing is too out of wack.

For now, I'll leave you with a few videos that I've had on repeat.

LIFE HAPPENS #53

Hey everyone!

It's been a very long week for me. I went back to California only to catch a plane to Chicago on July 2nd. I'm leaving for home in August, so I'll be staying in Chicago for most of my summer. I've already done a few things.

I've gone to Oak Fest. It's a festival that happens around the beginning of July in honor of the 4th of July. There were only a few rides, but they were fun and exciting. They ended the 4th of July with a fifteen to thirty minute fireworks display.

I bought my first LUSH products. I don't like buying certain products online. LUSH products are one of them. I might make a post about them next week.

I bought grav3yardgirl's new palette from Sephora. I actually bought the palette today! I don't have a Sephora close to my place, so when I saw the display in the mall, I knew I had to get one. I was one the fence about buying it, but when the employee started to restock the palette, I just went for it. There will definitely be a post about it in the upcoming weeks.

There's a lot of exciting events coming up soon. Tomorrow I'll be going to a Panic! At The Disco and Weezer concert! Depending on how well I can see the stage, I might post some pictures on my Instagram! (Which is @laceituplove, if you haven't been following me!)
