Beauty//The Body Shop Skincare Consultation & Haul

Hey guys!

I went to the mall this weekend and somehow found myself in The Body Shop. The last time I went, I only bought some hand sanitizers. I wasn't expecting to buy anything this visit. Then the sales assistant started to talk to me, and I ended up getting a skincare consultation from her.

I told her that I was mainly concerned with keeping my skin balanced and taking care of my pimples. She found that my skin type was normal to dry after she checked my skin's hydration rate. I had 21.6% which was very low compared to the normal 50% rate that other people have. She started to create a skincare regimen for me based on what we had so far.

The first product that she used was the Vitamin E Cream Cleanser which was thicker than normal cleansers that I use. It had more of a gel consistency, and she wiped it off with a cotton wiped sprayed with water. She swiped on the Vitamin E Hydrating Toner after wiping off all of the cleanser. The Vitamin E Hydrating Toner also had the same consistency as the cleanser and felt amazing on my skin. She used the Drops of Youth Serum once the toner dried on my skin. The serum was very light, and it almost felt like water. Since I wanted something with SPF, she choose the Vitamin E Moisture Lotion with SPF 15. At the end, she dabbed a bit of Tea Tree Oil on my pimples.

The entire consultation took less than fifteen minutes. While she was rubbing the products onto my skin, she told me all about the different ways these items can help with whatever skincare problems I had. She was very sweet and she didn't try to make me talk while she was putting together my skincare regimen.

Since the store was having a  "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" and a "Buy 3 Get 2 Free" deal, I ended up getting most of the items she suggested to me. I already have a serum and tea tree oil so I just bought the Vitamin E products she used on my face and the Cream Exfoliator.

I'm really excited to try out this regimen as I haven't had a consistent skincare routine in a while. Hopefully, my skin gets better after using these products.

A to Z Blogging Challenge 2016//Participation and Theme Reveal!

Hey guys!

I did the A to Z Blogging Challenge last year, and I had a great time. I didn't have a theme last year, so I thought this year, I'd challenge myself.

A to Z Challenge Theme Reveal 3-21-2016

This year's theme is colors!

I thought it would a nice, simple theme. I'll be choosing focusing on a different color (or colors, if I can't help myself!) each day and incorporating it into my makeup or outfit. It'll be a great challenge for me as I don't really have a lot of color in my wardrobe, but I tend to have a lot of different colors in my makeup collection. I'll be revealing teaser pictures of each look every day on my instagram, so don't forget to follow me there!

If you want to get in on the challenge, here's the link to sign up! I think they're still taking blogs until the end of the month.

If you decide to participate, leave a comment down below! I'd love to see how you're doing during the challenge!

That's it for today! Thanks for reading!

LIFE HAPPENS #45

Hey guys!

I've been extremely busy last week and this week with studying for midterms. I have so much to do in so little time. Here's a quick update.

SCHOOL

Midterms are finally over for me, and I'm now on Spring break! However, I do have two presentations due on the same day on the week I go back to school. I'll be spending my time working on them and catching up on any homework that's due.

I'm actually pretty excited about both of my presentations. The first one is an informative speech about Harry Potter and the second one is a presentation on the new ban on micro beads.

PERSONAL

Since I'm now on Spring Break, I'm focusing on getting my room in order. It's a constant battle of having to figure out where items should be placed and having enough room to put them. I think I might have to trash some products or give some away to be able to have more room to spread out.

Besides that, I'll be fixing up a few things on the blog (like font sizes, missing links, etc.) throughout the week to make sure my blog is up to snuff. I'm also doing a little bit more promos in all my social medias so I can expand my readership a little bit. Although I do blog for the fun of it, I want to be able to talk to more readers and learn about different people. With that said, don't forget to follow me on any of my social media accounts that you can find at the top right of the blog!

That's it for today! Thanks for reading!

Fashion//What's My Style? PART 2: THE BOTTOMS

Hey guys!

The first post of this series was about the different types of tops that are in my wardrobe and what tops I'll be adding. Check it out here.

An overview of my wardrobe:
TOPS
T Shirts
Tank Tops
Crop Tops
Long Sleeves

BOTTOMS
Jeans
Skirts
Shorts

ADD-ONS
Knee High Socks
Tights
Leggings

Since I was younger, it's been hard for me to find bottoms that fit me right. My body is nicely proportioned, but being short makes most jeans look huge on me. I've found the perfect looking jeans, only to be disappointed that they're too long for me to wear.

I found the perfect jeans from the Jessica Simpson collection from Macy's while I was going through the sales rack. They're around $50 - $60, but I try to find them on sale when they're about $10. I've also found a few skinny jeans from thrift stores that fit perfectly. I have about eight pairs of jeans that are different styles and denims to suit my every need.

I have about six or seven shorts that are in my closet. I might donate one pair as it's gotten a little too tight for me. I usually have these tucked away during winter unless I feel like wearing tights or leggings underneath them. For skirts, I tend to wear them year long with knee high socks, tights, or leggings. All I have are skater skirts, so I might buy one or two that aren't for some variety.

I won't be adding that many bottoms to my wardrobe since I have enough already. I might add a skirt or two, but I'm content with what I already have in my wardrobe.

That's it for today! Thanks for reading!

Beauty Review//Valentia Detoxifying Clay Mask & Eternal Youth Exfoliating Scrub

Hey guys!*

Here's another post about Valentia products! I'm starting to get really fond of this brand. Their packaging is sleek and modern and their products smell so nice. When I opened up the bubble wrapped protecting my two new products, I could smell a faint whiff of something.

The brand is cruelty free which I didn't notice the first time. I think my fingers always covered that the logo when I held the products whenever I was using it. What I like about the label, is that the shelf life is right next to the cruelty free logo so you know when exactly you should toss out your current bottle and get a new one.

The clay mask has a very medicinal smell, but also a hint of bubble gum or blueberries. At first, it does look like wet sand packed together, but it's really soft and malleable. It really does feel like soft clay. It has black/blue beads which may be the hibiscus and cranberry fibers.

When I tried out the product, it went on very smoothly. The mask is very thin yet it does cover a lot of skin. I only needed to apply about a penny sized amount to cover my entire face. The mask dried quickly which I liked. However, it does dry stiffly so I don't advise speaking or making facial expression.

In contrast, the scrub has a sharp, tangy scent to it. It took me a while to realize it was peppermint since there was something about the scent that I couldn't place. The scrub feels very jelly like. It's very clear with white and black beads which may be the jojoba beads.

The first time I tried the product, I only needed a small amount for it to really cover my face. It has a thicker consistency than the hydration mask and the clay mask from the same line. The scent didn't bother me, but if you're sensitive to certain smells, the scrub may smell overpowering to some people. My skin did feel smoother after I washed it off, however it did leave a few dry areas. It may be just my skin type, but I wasn't very happy with that small experience of it.

All in all, the Valentia Detoxifying Clay Mask is definitely worth the price. There's a lot of product and it can last for a very long time if you use it about once or twice a week for a year. While the Valentia Detoxifying Youth Exfoliating Scrub wasn't as amazing, I still think it's a good price if you want to try out a new product.

That's it for today! Thanks for reading!

College Life//A Day In the Life of a College Student (AKA I Have No Life)

Hey guys!

I never realized this, but these last month really revealed to me how much time I have as a college student.

Since I have morning classes, I wake up early four days a week. On Mondays and Wednesdays, I exercise and shower in the morning because my Statistics class doesn't start until 9:45 a.m. In that time, I'm able to check over my work for class and put on my makeup. While on Tuesdays and Thursdays I'm at school at seven o'clock so I'm able to get to class at eight. Since I have to be at school really early on those two days, I don't apply my everyday makeup. I usually put on some lipstick or mascara, and I'm out the door.

My Statistics teacher likes to release us early, so that classes tends to end around 12:20 p.m. I wait outside on a bench near my school for my ride. In that time, I like to practice a few dance moves. Mostly the glide as I like to make cool exits out of places. (Not really, but I do want to be able to do that in a special occasion).

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I stay after class to hang out with a couple of my friends. Some days I like to get lab hours for my Public Speaking class if the lab is open for a few hours.

After class, I either take a nap or review my notes. It depends on how much sleep I got the night before and how much homework I have that day. Most days I work on homework for a little bit then take a nap. I recommend taking a fifteen to thirty minute nap if you're looking for a quick energy boost. Going past thirty minutes can really burn people out. Believe me, I take five hours naps and after waking up, I don't feel as refreshed as I would be if I took smaller naps. However, I do need those five hours as I've been having a small bout of insomnia these past few weeks.

I spend most of the night finishing up homework or trying to get ahead of it. Now, I'm trying to schedule my time more efficiently which I might discuss on another post. The little time I get in between the day I usully catch up on my social media accounts.

That's where all my time goes as a college student! This is what I personally do about four times a week. It can get a little exhausting, but it's worth it to be able to do what I love in the future.

That's it for today! Thanks for reading!

Fashion//What's My Style? PART 1: THE TOPS

Hey guys!

I spent some time figuring out what kind of style I like to wear the most. For me, I like to be able to put something on five minutes before I have to go and be done with it. Of course, I want to be able to have time to put on my makeup every now and then, but usually I don't wear makeup on a day to day basis. I do try to put on some mascara or eye shadow if I feel like my eyes need a pick me up. This means that I stick to T shirts and jeans. Sometimes shorts or skirts if I have time.

In general, I've whittle down my wardrobe to these types of clothing:

TOPS
T Shirts
Tank Tops
Crop Tops
Long Sleeves

BOTTOMS
Jeans
Skirts
Shorts

ADD-ONS
Knee High Socks
Tights
Leggings

For this post, I'll be focusing on the TOPS section of my wardrobe.

I noticed these past few weeks that I usually go for the same five or six shirts for my outfits. I think it's because they're easy to pull on and don't need a special bra underneath to wear them. Since it's still considered winter in California, the tops I usually pick out are soft and warm. The rest of my tops are tank tops, crop tops, or muscle tees. They're not really good for winter.

I like to layer my tank tops and shirts so I won't be getting rid of any of them. I also know that I like to wear tank tops during summer with a light cardigan for summer breezes. As for the crop tops, I might get rid of one or two of them. I'm not totally in love with some of them as I like to be.

As for long sleeves, I only have about four of them in my wardrobe. They're specifically for the winter season and won't be leaving my closet anytime soon.

All in all, I think the TOPS section of my closet is pretty changeable. I'll add a few more shirts that I can layer and swap out instead of wearing the same five shirts every week. I might go through the crop tops to donate or sell them if they're too short or don't fit my personal style. For the long sleeves, I won't be looking for anymore of them. California is never really cold, if you catch my drift.
