#atozchallenge 2016//Z is for Zinnwaldite Brown

Hey guys!

I wanted to end this month with a color that's kind of common, but has a very unique name. Zinnwaldite Brown reminds me of crystals, but unfortunately I don't own any crystals or jewelry that has this shade of brown. I decided to use the TooFaced Natural Eyes palette to get this gorgeous color. Sexpresso is the perfect color to match Zinnwaldite Brown. I used Sexpresso as an eyeliner using a flat eyeliner brush.

#atozchallenge 2016//Y is for Yellow

Hey guys!

I know today's color isn't as creative as other days. However, I'm not much of a fan of bright colors like yellow, so this color was very out of comfort zone. I decided to wear a pair of my Harry Potter socks paired with a skater skirt and plain shirt. It's a very simple outfit, and I love how the red really brings out the yellow.

#atozchallenge 2016//X is for Xanadu

Hey guys!

The only letter X for colors that I could find was Xanadu. I really love the cool slate color and instantly thought of one of my new lipsticks. I think the MAC Halsey lipstick is perfect for this color if you have tanned skin. On other skin tones, the blue (pale skin tones)  or the grey (dark skin tones) is more pronounced. If you don't have the MAC Halsey lipstick, I'll definitely look out for some alternatives of the product so that you can enjoy this color too!

#atozchallenge 2016//W is for Wine

Hey guys!

I thought wine was a very beautiful color to work into a makeup look. It looks very nice in a smokey eye. I decided to mix Aphrodite from the BH Cosmetics Galaxy palette and the darkest purple in the New York Color IndividualEyes in the Pink Sunset palette. I added just a tad bit of the darkest purple in the New York Color IndividualEyes palette to Aphrodite to make the best wine color.

#atozchallenge 2016/V is for Vivid Burgundy

Hey guys!

I realized that I haven't really used my BH Cosmetics Galaxy palette as much as I want to lately. I decided to find a color that I can recreate using that palette, and I thought vivid burgundy was a great color. Although Aphrodite is a tad too metallic for vivd burgundy, it's still a great match. I decided to do a simple all over lid look. I let my eyeshadow do the talking and left a bit of chap stick on my lips.

#atozchallenge 2016//U is for Ube

Hey guys!

Today's color is soft and light. I totally didn't think about the food when I choose. Ahem. I tried to lightly use the New York Color IndividualEyes palette in Pink Sunset to recreate the color Ube. Ube is a very light purple so I choose to lightly take the top darkest purple in the palette and mix it with a little bit of Heaven from the Too Faced Natural Eyes palette.

#atozchallenge 2016//T is for Tea Rose

Hey guys!

I wanted to try a softer look for today. Tea Rose is the perfect color for a softer, gentler look. I mixed the blush from the Elizabeth Arden Deluxe Compact palette with a little bit of Heaven from the TooFaced Natural Eyes palette. It took a while for the blush to really mix with Heave, but once I got it going, I got to the color I wanted. I just brushed it over my lid for a subtle look.

#atozchallenge 2016//S is for Stormcloud

Hey guys!

Sometimes I like to mix eyeshadows to create new colors. That's what I did for today. Using the BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic Palette, I finally made Stormcloud. Just take a little bit of Neptune and mix it with Electra. Depending on how much of each eyeshadow you mix, the color will come out lighter or darker. I suggest using a lot of Electra and a little bit of Neptune. Since Neptune is a darker color, it'll be harder to lighten it to the right shade. Just make sure that you don't add too much Neptune or you might have to start lightening it up!

#atozchallenge 2016//R is for Raw Sienna

Hey guys!

I like the name of "Raw Sienna" as a color. It's a very rich, brown that's perfect for natural looking makeup or accentuating facial features. I ended up finding a contour palette with the color that really gives me a more mature look. I will be definitely branching out into different makeup techniques and looks, but for now, I'll stick to a little bit of a contour effect.

#atozchallenge 2016//Q is for...Nothing?

Hey guys!

I tried to find a color that starts with the letter Q, but no matter how hard I looked, there was not a single color I can find. What a shame huh? So, I'll leave you with of two my favorite YouTube videos of the moment. Some strong language included if you're not into that sort of stuff. And a little bit of snarky comedy. Don't say I didn't warn you.

#atozchallenge 2016//P is for Periwinkle

Hey guys!

Periwinkle is a such a pretty color! I decided to add accessoies that have that color into my wardrobe for today. I love tiny details like that as it makes an outfit have more personality.

#atozchallenge 2016//O is for Old Lace

Hey guys!

I wanted to do something to Letter E's post where I used an eyeshadow as eyeliner. I found that Silk Teddy from the TooFaced Natural Eyes palette was perfect as a way to brighten up tired eyes. I just used a flat eyeliner brush to gently press it against my lashline.

#atozchallenge 2016//N is for Navy Blue

Hey guys!

Today's color is one of my favorites! Navy blue can be found in wardrobe from jeans to shirts, so it was very easy for me to pick something out. Even though I didn't go anywhere today, I like to create outfits for when I do. There won't be much pictures today as I got a few packages which caused me to forget to take pictures. I'll be updating this post tomorrow so you guys can see what outfit I thought up.

#atozchallenge 2016//M is for Mauvelous

Hey guys!

There was a lot of different colors that I love for letter M. However, Mauvelous was the color that I couldn't pass up. I decided to do a simple wash of color over my eyelids using the New York Color IndividualEyes Palette in Pink Sunset. Since the eyeshadows aren't really pigmented, I can control how much I can layer on and change how the color looks.

#atozchallenge 2016//L is for Light Cyan

Hey guys!

I tried to find a color that would be a little bit out of my comfort zone, but I couldn't seem to find any of them in my wardrobe or makeup. I decided that light cyan would be an easy color for today as I found it in my Galaxy Chic palette from BH Cosmetics.

STEPS
1. Use a brush to put Electra on half of your eyelid.
2. Layer Meteor over Electra.
3. Then use Earth to brighten the inner corner of your eyes.
4. Taking a dark color that compliments the layer ones, use it to gently create a smokey eye affect.

I tried to do a different type of picture tutorial for this post, but unfortunately none of the pictures were coming out clear enough. I'll update this post tomorrow once the I get the pictures all sorted out.

#atozchallenge 2016//K is for KU Crimson

Hey guys!

I wanted a little bit of comfort for today's post. I decided to wear an all black outfit with my shirt as the centerpiece. The pictures don't really capture the colors of the shirt as I just came back from a school event. I've also tried to add the picture of the color, but for some reason, it won't load. Hopefully, I can add it in a little bit, but here's a few pictures of what I wore today!

The shirt is an exclusive from Ghost Town's Light The Flame bundle while the skinny jeans are from the Jessica Simpson line in Macy's.

#atozchallenge 2016//J is for Jade

Hey guys!

For today, I focused on small accessories I can add to my wardrobe. I found some jade pieces in my jewelry boxes that I thought looked very nice. I couldn't seem to get a good picture of it, so I'll see if I can add some tomorrow!

ETSY SHOP REVIEW - MERMAIDBLOBS

Hey guys!*

I've started to buy items from Etsy shops once again. I currently have about two items on their way and three more that are going to be shipped within the next week or so. I've become obsessed with shops including mermaidblobs.

The shop mainly sells zines and prints. I bought the last Halloween bundle which was three zines for three dollars and free shipping. The owner shipped my items on April 4th, and I got the package on the 7th. I was surprised as the owner had chosen to buy the tracking number option as it cost $2.54. I definitely appreciate it as it seems that she only got paid $0.06!

Chanel, the owner of mermaidblobs, not only make sure that I got exactly what I wanted, but added some extras! The package was a pretty red envelope with 'Please do not bend' written on both sides of it. She used a really cute pineapple duct tape to close the envelope, which also made it so much easier to take off. It looked a little bigger than what was described, however when I opened it, Chanel had put a cardboard piece of paper to make sure my zines didn't come wrinkled or bent.

There was a cute little note written on an acorn shaped post it note attached to the plastic holding all of my items. Inside the plastic were the three zines I ordered, a art print, and a witch sticker.

The three zines are different in sizes, but the quality of the paper makes them very professional. The smallest zine, which is the only one that's colored, had amazing details and inspired a lot of ideas when I flipped through it. The "Magical Ghoul-Friends" zine had a lot of variety in terms of drawings and each character had their own personality despite having only one page to stand out. The largest zine was inked really nicely which caused the details to stand out even though it's in black in white. There are still some pencil and outline marks, but I find that makes the zines more real and personal.

The extras included a "The Bride" print on a regular photo paper. I love how it's a simple side view of her, but she has such a sassy and no-nonsense attitude radiating from her. The last extra was a cute little witch sticker which I'm definitely going to be using in a resin project or a poster in the future.

All in all, I definitely recommend checking out Chanel's Etsy. Although I bought the last Halloween bundle, she recently posted a Mythical Babes Zine bundle which I am snatching up soon. There's also a food zine and a larger single zine up for sale.

*All opinions and views are my own. All products were bought with my own money, and I am not getting compensation for this review.

#atozchallenge 2016//I is for Indian Green

Hey guys!

I decided to add color to my outfit for today. I found that my Slytherin knee high socks are as close as I can get to Indian Green. I paired them with a Ghost Town shirt and light blue shorts to really bring attention to my socks.

As always, I wanted a simple outfit I can throw on when I'm in a rush. Today's look really helps bring out my geekier side while also representing one of my favorite Hogwarts houses.

#atozchallenge 2016//H is for Halayà úbe

Hey guys!
I decided on another simple tutorial for today's color! Halayà úbe reminds me of a purple yam desert that I am fond of. I used the New York Color Individual Eyes Palette in Pink Sunset and the TooFaced Natural Eyes Palette.

STEPS
1. Take an eyeliner brush and line your eyes with the darkest purple in the Pink Sunset Palette. This may take a few layers as the palette isn't as pigmented as I would like it to be.

2. Brush Nudie all over the lid, avoiding the line that you just made.

3. Using a new brush, blend the two colors where they meet to soften the shadow.

I wanted a really simple look for today since the color is very dark and dramatic.

#atozchallenge 2016//G is for Gold

Hey guys!

I decided to do a very simple look for today's post. For the letter G, I wanted something a bit more in my comfort zone. I found that Honey Pot from the TooFaced Natural Eyes Palette is the perfect gold color.

Just brush it all over your eyelids for a simple, but glittery look! Gold can brighten eyes and bring out the undertones in pupils. I definitely recommend brushing gold on when you don't want a full face of makeup, but instead want to brighten up your eyes.

#atozchallenge 2016//E is for Emerald & F is for Fallow

Hey guys!

I found two colors for letters E and F. If you haven't read yesterday's post, I was unable to do the challenge properly. I choose Emerald and Fallow. I'm using the TooFaced Natural Eyes Palette and the Elizabeth Arden Deluxe Compact Palette for today's look.

STEPS
1. Brush Nude from the TooFaced Palette all over your eyelid.

2. Using a flat eyeliner brush, take the emerald in the Elizabeth Arden Palette, and line your eyes.

I choose to do something simplier for today's look. Instead of creating a smoky eye like I usually do, I decided to use my eyeshadow as eyeliner for a subtle pop of color.

#atozchallenge 2016//E is for Emergency Room? (Wait, that's not a color!)

Hey guys!

Now, I know what you're thinking as you read the title. Emergency room isn't a color, it's a place. That's exactly why I choose it. Unfortunately, I was unable to choose a color for today's post because of something that happened this morning.

This morning I had a rush of vertigo which led to a panic attack and several other ailments. It was the first I had ever experienced a panic attack so I wasn't sure what was going on. At first, I wasn't too concerned about the spinning room since sometimes I get hit with vertigo when I stand up too fast. However, I was standing up when it hit me causing me to stagger to the side. I ended up slumped on the doorway where I called my dad for help.

The vertigo didn't get any better, and suddenly I couldn't feel my hands. By the time my dad, uncle, and brother took me to the hospital, my breathing was shallow and my hands and legs were numb. I didn't want to open my eyes because every time I did, the room was spinning and it made me want to throw up.

I was admitted into the Emergency Room where I was told several different things. Not only was I dehydrated, I had vertigo, anxiety, and a panic attack. Not a good way to start the day. I had an IV stuck into my arm so they can get some medication in me. I was able to leave an hour or two later with no complications whatsoever.

Which brings me to this post. Despite the fact that the words do correspond with today's letter, I will be attempting to do two different colors for letter E and letter F tomorrow. I'll try to make them match or at least, compliment each other, but if not, tomorrow is going to be a very funky day.

#atozchallenge 2016//D is for Daffodil

Hey guys!

I was trying to find a color that didn't have deep or dark in the beginning of it's name and I can find in my makeup or clothing. I decided on daffodil since it matched one of my favorite shirts. I tried to get a good picture of my shirt, but I threw that out the window as the sun decided to hide behind cloud.

I paired this shirt with skinny jeans and converse for a very laid back look. Since I do go to college, I wanted something that I can easily slip on.

#atozchallenge 2016//C is for Classic Rose

Hey guys!

Letter C is today's letter in the A to Z Challenge. I decided to make this an outfit post instead of a makeup post since the last two letters were makeup centered. I don't have a lot of color in my wardrobe, but somehow I found this pretty long sleeved shirt. It definitely matches the classic rose color in real life. I tried to get the color as close as possible, but alas. Sometimes pictures don't look as good as in real life.

I paired this long sleeve shirt with some dark washed denims. I thrifted both items, but the jeans are from Old Navy and the shirt is from GAP.

#atozchallenge 2016//B is for Blush

Hey guys!

Today's letter is B! I decided on Blush as I've been itching to use my New York Color IndividualEyes in Pink Sunset.

STEPS
1. Create a triangle at the outer corner of your eye using the second darkest shade.

2. Fill in the triangle.

3. Take the lightest color and brush it over the lid.
4. Blend the two colors where they meet.

5. Clean up the eyeshadow with a cotton swab or blend out the colors a little more.

Here is a comparison of my eyelids. I suggest to always check if the eyeshadow is even since I tend to go very lightly in the beginning then build up on it. This can cause some streaks, but not too noticeable like in the picture.

I like the look as it's very easy to do. However, the product did not work as well as I thought it would. The color was streaky, and when I went back to add more color, the eyeshadow looked like it was leaving my eyelids instead of staying there. Although I was expecting a little streaking because of how I apply my eyeshadow, I wasn't expecting the large amount of it I found when I was done with the eyelid. I'll definitely be doing a review on the NYC IndividualEyes Palette soon.
