It's a little bit passed the middle of the semester for me, and I am already anticipating winter break. I've changed my major countless of times in the past three years, but I've suddenly found a career route that I may actually like and go into within two years. I won't be talking more about it until I can meet with an academic counselor in November or December just so I don't jinx it.
In other news, I will be participating in NaNoWriMo this year. I can't remember if I already mentioned it in an earlier blog post, but look forward to some daily or semi-daily blog posts updating you guys about it. This year I've planned out two projects to work on in November. One of them is a fantasy piece while the other is a fic. What's a fic? It's shorthand for fanfiction. Yes, I do read fanfiction. I've been reading it for about eight to ten years and hopping through different fandoms. It's an integral part of my life, and I may be addicted to it. But that's another story altogether.
On twitter, I mentioned that I was going to a job event after going to a job fair at my college. Now that it's confirmed, I'll be going to an orientation event to start training for my first job! I'm definitely excited for it, although I'm not too happy about staying until eight on the second day of training. Getting a job this semester wasn't in my plans, but it was definitely an opportunity I couldn't let pass me by.
Started watching a TNT series called Good Behavior, about the odd relationship between a professional hit man & a habitual female thief. Near the end of the first episode of season 2 the show featured a song called "Looking For Knives." Checked YouTube and found that it's performed by a synth-pop group called Dyan. It's six minutes long but it kind of draws you in. While on YouTube I got pulled to some classic Pat Benatar videos, and spent the remainder of Friday night reveling in the songs of my favorite female singer from the 1980s.
ReplyDeleteI think I've heard about Good Behavior while flipping through channels. It looks like a show that I might like if I wasn't swamped with school and my own personal projects. I find that TV shows have the best music.
DeleteI've definitely been pulled into the YouTube video spiral where I was looking for a song on TV and ended up listening to an old (to me) artist.
